The Agoge
In Sparta, military training is law, if your too weak to be a soldier then your too weak to be a spartan. If we judge you worthy of of life as an infant, then you will only be subjected to a number of other tests through your military dominated life. At the vulnerable age of thirteen you will be torn away from your parents and communal life to start training as a Spartan Soldier. You will be thrown into the Barracks with many other boys of the same age aside from your personal supervisor and only protection, another boy a few years older than yourself who has experience in Spartan life. He will be your only companion. He will teach you to what it means to be a Spartan Soldier. So little ones you had better get accustomed to this thought, because from here on out it will only get harder. Welcome to the Agoge.
(Id like to keep this thread kind of low key, I'm not looking for a ton of people cluttering it up, but I don't plan on turning anyone away either. Ideally this thread should consist of six to ten people. Unless you want to get real creative I would expect there to only be two roles in this thread: that of the mentor, and of his student. Id also like to keep this balanced so you may either create multiple characters or ask me where I would need you. All that said Its time to get down to the, how you say, nitty-gritty. ;D)
