China Gets A Turn :D

Yao got news of a Japanese ship approaching one of the docks and wasted no time in getting to the nearest shore to see this ship. He used a telescope to examine it, as it was still a ways from touching land. For a moment, he thought the Japanese traitor was trying to sneak up on him with a navy assault until he saw the white flag with the Japanese character for "peace" painted on the biggest sail on the ship. Still, he was suspicious. A single Japanese navy man anchored the ship and allowed Yao aboard along with some of his soldiers who searched the vessel only to find no other men, no weapons. Even the canons were stripped. In the brig, Yao himself found a young man lying unconscious ontop of a Japanese kimono with a peace offering note written on his back in black paint and in kanji. He ordered his men to take the man ashore and give him food and water. He did not look Japanese, so Yao believed he was not much of a threat.

Nathan had only ended up here after being left with Japan for a while, until he had actually managed to escape. Though he had paid off the navy man to get him on board the ship that he was on at the minute, but he was smart and dressed the escape up as a peace offering even though it clearly wasn't, he wanted to out Kiku for his cruelty. Nathan soon woke up, with no recollection of the journey as his eyes tried to focus, blinking as he saw the Chinese man watching him.

Yao stared at him from across a table where various dishes of Chinese-origin food was laid out along with a glass of water. He had his arms folded into his long sleeves, longer than his actual arms, and his brown eyes kept a hard focus on the brunette.

"Where you come from?" Yao asked with his Chinese accent. "You ah not Japanese. You ah western European...where is your home country?"

Nathan blinked though his focus regularly shifted to the food that was laid out for him. He decided rather than ask questions he just told Yao what he wanted to know. "England, Northern England to be precise. Arthur sold me off to Kiku who I've barely escaped from." He sighed, taking a slow drink of the water in front of him.

Yao nodded slowly, taking in the information that Nathan just gave him. So, he's not in alliance with Japan at all. He's indeed a western country, belonging to that England person who insulted his cooking! "Japan treat you badly?" he asked, catching when Nathan said "who I've barely escaped from." Japan, to him, was quiet and barely drew attention to himself until he rebelled against China and fought for independence.

Though Nathan wasn't like Arthur, who made North look like a saint in comparison. He actually began to eat the food that Yao had laid out with no complaints which should have surprised the Chinese man some. Though in between breaks that he had while eating he looked back up at Yao. "Is there something on my back?" he asked, feeling as if there was.

Yao was indeed surprised. He'd only been introduced to England and France so far, and France was the only one who defended him against England's insult to his cooking. He continued to stare merely out of curiosity about how this Englishman was different from Arthur, then Nathan's question brought him out of his trance. "Uh, yes...there is a note on your back from Japan...something about how you are his peace offering."

"Peace offering?" Nathan said confused, should he tell the truth or should he lie? "Oh yes, I kind of lied about that, it's how I managed to escape really. The guy who brought me here thought Japan really did give the order. " He said, one couldn't deny he was smart in thinking like that but risky. "You would not believe Kiku's cruelty.."

Yao tilted his head while frowning a little. "Japan? Cruel?" he asked. Again, he never thought Japan would be so cruel to helpless country, but Nathan seemed smarter than he looked...then again, Japan had this darker side that Yao only go to see when Japan rebelled for independence, standing in front of a Japanese flag with Chinese blood on his face...it was a sight that Yao would never forget.

"I'm not going to explain what he did." Nathan shivered, actually it would be best to forget all about what Japan did as of right now. He doubted he'd be seeing him again anyway. "I just had to get away, and you were the nearest country I could have come to so I guess I've made the wise choice, being in your protection so..thanks.." He smiled, "Is there anything I can do to repay you for this act of kindness?"
