Aijou had woken early that morning, like every other morning. It was when he got up every morning. Which was early even if he was taking care of someone else. Most of the other servants were not up till at least 8, But Aijou took it upon himself to make sure his master had everything he might need ready for him. First thing Aijou did was make sure that nothing out of place. That all the rooms with in his path to the kitchen was clean and that the kitchen hadn't been messed with since he'd gone to bed. Thankfully everything was as he'd left it. Sure Aijou knew that some of the other servants would at times, come in and mess around with this or that. But the young male knew well that they only took the things that were extra...He shouldn't allow it, but some times. With the mistress of the house, most of them didn't really get a full meal, having to go tend to her when they should be eating. Letting out a sigh as he tied his apron around his waist, he then started to pull out the things he needed to make his lords food. It would be something he loved to eat for breakfast. Aijou having the only wish of making his master happy. The young servant had, at some point, fallen for the male. He would never say it allowed. It being wrong and un-pure of him to think such thoughts of his lord. But it was the only thing he would ever hold...The thing that pushed him to do his best. Washing his hands in the sink, He gave a light sigh as he then started to begin his cooking. The process in its self took longer then he'd hoped, but that was what normally happened when you made everything as perfect as humanly possible. Nodding to himself as he looked at the finish process of his work. "well, I guess I should let it cool for a moment while checking on things before waking the lord up." he said as he tugged the apron off and sat it back in its place before making his rounds. He'd made a bit extra for the other servants, and the mistress's own dish. Though that hadn't been made as carefully...For one it wouldn't be eating till way later, the lady wishing to sleep in extremely late. Why he even bothered making her's so early, he wasn't sure. Maybe he just hoped that one day she would wake up on time and be pleased with him? Who knew?

Finally sure that everything was in order, Aijou moved back to the kitchen and placed the meal for his lord on the cart, along with the morning tea that was awaiting to be poured for drinking, and a few other things to drink as so the lord could choose which he'd like. Aijou didn't mind putting the extra work into that part, as long as he got a smile he would be pleased...Moving his way down the hall, Aijou worked his way to the servants section, taking the slow lifter up to the top floor where the lords room waited. Moving his way down the hall he found the room and opened the door, pushing the cart through with skill one had to learn. It was just much easier that the two married masters had different rooms, as so that Aijou didn't wake the mistress as he sat the cart in its place and moved to the others bed side, leaning over to lightly brush his hair from his eyes. Giving a light smile before moving away to open the curtains. "G'morning Sir. I've made you're meal" he said in a slightly raised tone as to softly wake the master up with out really being rude about it. The light pouring in from the now opened window.

The man lay there, awake but eyes closed. He was tall, approaching thirty, with dark features. He had the strong build of a soldier, not huge or brutish, there was a leanness to him, but his shoulders were broad, and his face showed signs of age beyond his years. He didn't sleep well of late, often awake when Aijou came to him in the morning, simply laying while his mind turned over the problems of the day. Shizuka had made a name for himself, as a strategist and tactician for the High King. Some even whispered his feats and feints could only have been done with magical aid, or clairvoyance, and it was whispered he was a mystic. Either way, the King had found much use for Shizukan, but also feared him, and had him bound to the court through a political marriage to a noble daughter. A woman vain and critical, distasteful of anything that she didn't feel accented her own greatness, she resented being married off to a 'mere soldier', never mind Shizu was one of the highest ranks the military had. Shizu found himself trapped, bound to serve a King who, now with his power secure, was suddenly not the great kind ruler Shizu had hoped for, and when he returned from long days helping the King defend and outhink his enemies, both evil and good, wicked and innocent, Shizu's home was no more relaxing with a hostile wife who found every delight in pointing out her superior breeding. Unfortunately she was a rare beauty, a gorgeous woman who knew how to charm people into getting what she wanted, except Shizu.

His eyes opened slowly, and he looked upon the boy. He was a soft sweet looking young man, and Shizu was struck often by the quiet beauty Aijou possessed. The very qualities that led the boy into service far from his family were those that endeared him to Shizu, and already he was a bright point in the man's day. Such a diligent and devoted servant, Shizu was more glad than he cared to admit. He watched the streaming rays as they highlighted the features of Aijou.

"Thank you Aijou, and good morning to you. How do you manage to keep so cheerful?"

A slight smile painted Shizu's lips, before he slowly munched upon the breakfast, moving to sit on the edge of the bed. He wore only thin sleep pants, torso exposed, a few scars marking the history of his service. His appetite wasn't strong, he wasn't hungry much these days. But for Aijou's sake he tried to eat, although it was clear he was mostly just picking at the meal.

Aijou tilted his head to the side, confusion resting on his features as he looked upon his lord. "I Am very happy to serve such a caring master. It is my greatest wish to make you happy. How can I do that if I myself am no please to be here?" he asked in a tone that hinted truth. Sure there were some factors that Aijou hadn't liked. The Mistress being one of them. God forbid Aijou be in her presence for more then what was required. Giving that he had other people go care for her now, Aijou hardly saw her, so his mood was more up beat, Folding his hands over his lap, he stood as still as he could, watching his lord sit up from where he lied and begin to eat. It didn't take Aijou long to notice that the lord wasn't really eating. But he said nothing. It would only be rude to point out what someone tired to hide..."My lord, I excuse myself for other duties, I'll come by later for the leftovers and at request, ask for early leave today?" he said with a slight bow like nod. Today wasn't just any day.

Aijou hadn't taken off early in a while, but today was a day he couldn't stay as long as he himself would have liked...He needed to head down into town to send something to his mother. Her birthday was coming up, and if he didn't get it there today, his gift to her would be late..and what it was, his money that he'd been saving. Why have it when he didn't really get to spend it? His mother would need it more then he himself would...at least, that was how he saw it.."If you'd rather not, I can understand." he said quickly. It wasn't his place to ask something as such...So he was starting to feel a bit guilty for even bringing it up...At the very least, he'd get a swift no and would be allowed to leave to tend to his other duties.

He had to smile at the confusion, Aijou was so sincere, with a genuine desire to please. It would never occur to him to be disgruntled or cross for his duty.

"You are a good servant Aijou. More than I deserve likely. Thank you."

His head tilted, dark eyes now watching closely. It was a most unusual request from the devoted worker, and while Shizu was more than inclined to grant the request, he did want to know if anything was wrong. Aijou was starting to have a special place in his heart, and he wanted to know more of him, especially if something were wrong. A slight look of concern reflected in dark pools.

"Is everything alright Aijou? Why do you need off early? Is it anything I can assist with, you do so much for me."

Aijou was a bit caught off when the other asked if anything was wrong, his hands moving up to wave back and forth as he shook his head. "No, not at all. Its my mothers birthday coming up, And I'd like to get into town before the post office closes and the mail is sent out so I can send her some money. I don't really need all that I have and she'll most likely have some bills that need to be paid." he said with a frantic look. "If I wasn't worried about it being late, I'd have done it at a later date when I might get a day off, but I've held out as long as I dare to." he explained.

He took a final bite of the breakfast, unable to eat more, while listening to his young servant's words, the sweet sincere voice almost calming even in this simple explanation. A soft smile spread on his lips, and he rose from the bed, moving to a small dark mahogany chest, fingers lifting the lid retrieving a gold and silver coins. It wasn't a fortune, probably about half of what he was going to send, but he slipped it into a soft leather pouch, before returning to the boy. A warm smile and for just a moment he lifted his fingers to brush against his cheek, before reaching down to take his hand, turning it up and placing the pouch into it with the other, Shizu's large strong hands holding Aijou's between them while placing the pouch, before pulling them back away, a tingle in the back of his mind at the touch, one he didn't quite understand.

"Here Aijou, you have been a great comfort to me, take this to send to her, as a personal thanks from me. A don't tell......her..... You know how .....she..... is about money."

The 'her' and 'she' Shizu referred to was his 'wife' the vain shallow woman who would would be angry beyond description if she knew Shizu had given the boy money. she felt the servants were overpaid as it was. Then with a heavy sigh he turned to the wardrobe, he could not simply enjoy the morning with Aijou, there were several planning sessions and a report meeting with the King he had to attend.

Aijou blinked a few times as he watched the lord for a moment, unsure of what he was doing as he fiddled around a chest that he'd never really noticed before. While he waited, he wondered if this meant he could go, he hoped so...His gaze growing bigger as the other a came, holding a small pouch in his hands before taking Aijou's own and setting the bundle into them, hands lingering for a moment on the young boys before pulling a way. His gaze lowering to the bundle.

Pressing her lips together he looked back up as his master with an odd sense of fondness of the lord, his eyes slightly teared up. "thank you so much...I'll be sure to take good care of it before I can send it."

He said with a bow, "I'll take my leave now to finish my other duties, but please feel free to call for me if you should need anything before I leave for the mail office." he said before turning to head out the door, stopping for a second before giving his master a quick look before leaving, heading to his room where he hid the gifted money with the rest of his savings. "to work I suppose." he said as he sighed, leaving the room to finish the spot cleaning where his other workers refused to clean.

He smiled, a softness in those normally hard eyes for the boy, sensitive and empathic.
"I have no doubt that you will, and don't let anyone stop you from leaving early, on My command you have your leave, if they refuse they will deal with me."

The taller older man dipped his head forward gently with a smile to Aijou.

"Be well Aijou."

He would not call for the boy again today, he wouldn't want to delay his departure. He couldn't even describe all that Aijou did for him, and it was nice to be able to help him in return, though money seemed a pale gift for the hard work and comfort. Turning from the other's exit, he focused on the long day ahead.

Aijou had left when he said he would, having made sure everything was done first before taking his leave. The trip hadn't been to bad, and he'd made it to the office before they shipped out. Thankful that they allowed him to quickly process his package before sending it out, along with a letter to his mother. Now he waited in the palace, the hour being late to really do much.. but he felt oddly unsure, he wanted to go back to the lord and give his thanks. But he wasn't sure if he was up...Aijou had gotten back rather late..

Letting out a deep sigh, the servant rested on his bed, looking up at the ceiling with a light blush over his face as he thought of his master, his mind unable to shift from his image to anything else, you could say that he was in love with his employer. It wouldn't look all that good if he'd spoken it out loud, not only that. the same man was married to a royal female, there wasn't any chance he'd ever have with the master. He knew that, but that didn't mean his heart couldn't beat faster at the thought of him, nor skip a beat when they simple brushed fingers for any given reason.

Hiding his eyes under his hands he let out a low sigh, He was helplessly lost in this mess of feelings, god forbid anyone ever find out that such a person as him were having dirty thoughts of the man they served. while themselves being male. It would be a scandal, he'd surly have to leave the palace and find a new job, which might not be such a nice job as this...there could possible be no jobs open to him if word really did get out, he'd be ruined simple by the will of the mistress.
