Bio: Derek was born a full vampire. The gift/curse has been passed down for generations from his ancestors. During his childhood, he wasn't allowed out a lot. His body couldn't handle the sunlight. It was hard to live in a big house with no one to to talk to but yourself. When he became a teenager, he started going to private school. However, his social experience was poor because his parents constantly nagged him about the importance of not revealing that he was a vampire.
It made Derek angry. He didn't ask to be a vampire. In high school, he rebelled by turning some of his friends into vampires. After realizing that not everyone could be a vampire, Derek wised up. He graduated from university with a degree in medieval history and educated himself on hematology. Now, he spends his time trying to make sure vampires don't get revealed. But that's getting really hard with the amount of vampires rising and the rise in mysterious deaths.
