He nodded in understanding as they continued walking back to the apartment and looked back at Kotetsu. "My main concern is if it will become addicting. That kind of drug will do more harm than good...also...if there was a way...I would give up my powers so you could continue being a hero. I can at least fall back on modeling or even go into the robotics business and continue my parents work," said Barnaby honestly. It was true, he would only be a hero if Kotetsu was by his side. However, he would just as gladly give it up to save this man who he can consider to be his greatest friend.

Kotetsu sighed and looked up at the sky as they walked. "I'm afraid of that, I know. But my desire to be doing something more effective than catching a shoplifter is great. Every time I switch on the television and see criminals on the loose, I feel awful for not being able to do anything against them. It's not about the glory of being in the big league, it's about the feeling of being able to contribute. And thanks Bunny, I know you, but I'd never want you to make any sacrifices for me."

They reached his house.

Reaching the house he reached for the door handle when it was suddenly opened by Nathan aka Fire Emblem. "Oh welcome back Tiger. Handsome," Nathan winked at the two of them.

"How did you?..." Questioned Barnaby as Nathan spun on his heels and looked over his shoulder.


"Woman's intuition," he giggled and walked away.

Kotetsu laughed loudly and pulled Barnaby in by the sleeve.

"Okay everyone, who wants to help prepare dinner? Or will it just be Bunny and me?"

Barnaby nearly tripped over his feet when Kotetsu dragged him in by the sleeve. When Kotetsu mentioned cooking dinner, he watched their friend Blue Rose, well Karina, perk up. She had a faint blush on her cheeks as she stepped forward.

"I would like to help you Kotetsu-San," she seemed to chirp as she looked at the ground and then at Kotetsu's face.


Barnaby felt a little annoyed as he knew the feelings of the young girl, but shook his head at such thoughts. "Hey old man, I'm going to put the things in the kitchen." With that he walks promptly into the kitchen where he sees Ivan and Kieth.


"Ah! Welcome back Barnaby-San!" Saluted Kieth as Ivan waved as he drank a glass of water.

Kotetsu was rather puzzled at Barnaby's reaction to Karina. He turned to the pretty young girl and ruffled her hair. "Sure kiddo. You can start with dicing the beef. Bunny," he called after the bespectacled blond, "Can you please put the rice on the boil?"

As he ventured further into the kitchen, he noticed Keith and Ivan. "Hey, Origami kiddo, can you please start shelling and cleaning the prawns? Keith buddy, can you please start chopping the vegetables?"

he rolled up his sleeves. "In the mean time, I'll start making the spice mixture for the fried rice and the beef rolls."

"Ah, yes," said Ivan as Keith saluted Kotetsu and smiled as the both began working diligently to his requests.

Barnaby nodded as well as he rummaged through Kotetu's kitchen to find a large bowl and got some rice. Measuring enough for everyone's appetites, he began to wash the rice before setting them in the pot to boil.

Karina worked slowly and precisely as she began to cut the beef that Kotetsu gave her to show him that she knows what to do in the kitchen. Ivan stood next to her as he began to shell the prawns.

Kotetsu chuckled and made a silly joke about a dinner made by super heroes, as he started preparing the spice mixture. He'd occasionally glance at Ivan and Karina, complimenting them on their work. "And Bunny," he sniggered, "No one boils rice just as beautifully as you do. You should make your next interview on the topic of boiling rice! Maybe write a book on it. Ah, just kidding. You're all doing well."

He then shooed all of them out of the kitchen and set about preparing the rest of dinner by himself.

"Antonio, you useless bull," he called, "the beers and sodas are in the crates, distribute them! And don't go giving the kiddies beer!"

Karina and Ivan beamed at Kotetsu as they nodded and continued on their work. Kieth finished cutting the vegetables and brought them over to Kotetsu.

Barnaby "hmphed" at Kotetsu's words as he finished boiling the rice and Nathan and Antonio came in to see what was happening. Pao-Lin joined in as well as she watched everyone work and asked if she could help. Until everyone was shooed away by Kotetsu.


"I'm not that useless and I am a responsible adult!" Shouted Antonio as he picked up the beers and Pao-Lin came to get the sodas.


"I got the sodas so please don't worry," she said with a giddy smile as she ran off with the drinks.


"Kotetsu...is there anything I can help you with?" Asked Karina out of the blue as she stood next to Kotetsu.
