After some time Chris walked outside with the waitress waving him goodbye. He got into the car and sighed.

"Oh good. Always good to have a friend, just be careful though," warned Nick as he started up the car and headed home. "I'm calling in sick tomorrow so we will need to get to painting the wall tonight alright?"

The conversations were short and sweet on the drive home as it was already dark when they pulled into the drive way. Nick asked Chris to take in the rollers and brushes as he brought in both cans of paint and various other items.

Chris sighed and nodded his head, not saying anything more about it.

Making his way to the door he tried not to think to much. After he went in and made sure to leave door open for Nick he went in further. When he saw the devastated wall he paled.
What the fuck is that? Who made it and why? It surely wasn't me.. I don't sleepwalk..

Walking in after Chris he saw his boyfriend stiffen. Settin everything down he patted his shoulder. "Hey, don't worry about it okay? We are goin to get rid of this and forget about it," Nck reassured him and looked at the wall then back at Chris. "Ready?"

He flinched when Nick patted his shoulder.
"Y-yeah.. I'm ready. Let's get over with it", he said with a sigh. "Though happy you are here with me. I'm not sure if I dared to went in here in another case.."

The rest of the night they were able to get two coats of paint on as the primer/paint combo did the job to hide the red paint. Nick told Chris to go to bed as he cleaned up and went to bed to Chris as well.

When he woke up in the morning Nick was still asleep. He got out of the bed, making sure to not to wake up Nick and went downstairs. Making breakfast he hummed softly. When it was ready he put it on the tray and took it upstairs. He rested it on the floor, near the bed and waited for Nick to wake up.

Feb 5

His alarm went off as he muttered something and reached for his alarm clock. Turning it off he reached for his phone and as his nose smelled food. Nick looked around and saw Chris and then the tray of food. Smiling he placed a finger to his lips and dialed work.

"Hi Jim...it's Nick. Hey, my stomach is killing me and I don't think I will be able to make it into work..." feigned Nick as he nodded his head and scratched the top of his head. "I'm really sorry and thank you. You're the best. Yeah. Okay. Bye."

Closing the the phone he sat up and patted the empty spot next to him. "Well I'm staying home."

Chris leaned and kissed him on the forehead.
"I'm happy to hear that. I..", he cleared his throat a little embarassed, ".. made a breakfast for us so if you want to.."
He blushed a little, not really knowing what to say. Maybe he rushed things and Nick wouldn't be pleased with it..? Maybe..
Nick could tell from one look on Chris's face that he was thinking too much as usually.
