Nick walked away when he noticed that Chris wasn't going to be done anytime soon. Going back to his room he chose a few items that he wanted to use on Chris later and smiled. Walking back to Chris's room he noticed he wasn't there and went downstairs to see if he was in the kitchen. Right before he called out to him, the doorbell rang.

"I got it," said Nick as he went to the door and noticed it was the carpet cleaners. "Oh good you guys are here a little early. That's great."

After a little chatter they walked inside and went to the area that needed to get cleaned. Coming back down ten minutes later he gave Chris a small slap on his bottom. "Hey. I wanted to talk to you about earlier. That okay?"

Chris couldn't help but be glad that he was living with Nick. He was actually only in his boxers and if not Nick taking care of whoever it was he would need to run upstairs, put up some clothes, going down.. and all that with his stomach growling for food. Doing so was the last thing he wanted to do now so he was really glad. Doing some sandwiches for himself he didn't really heard when Nick entered the kitchen so when he felt a slap on his backside he flinched with a little gasp. He looked at his boyfriend and nodded with evidently nervous smile.
"Sure.. Let's talk", he said quietly, hoping it wasn't something bad.

"So yeah...I'm sorry for wigging out on you earlier so yeah. Can start with that," Nick was nervous and well...he was scared. Did he think about how unready he was for everything? But hey he will roll with the punches. He just hoped Chris wasn't angry at him.

Chris shook his head.
"No. That's okay. It was my fault", he said, blushing a bit. "I shouldn't say.. something so.. weird. I know you have a lot to deal with.. and yet.. S-sorry."

Chris sighed with reliefe and smiled happily, looking at Nick. He kissed him softly and then went back to preparing his food.
"Yea.. Almost dying from hunger. Want some too?", he asked with a warm smile.

"Ah.. I completely forgot about it.. And here I am doing some stupid sandwiches.. But on the other hand it's only a bit past noon so.. maybe now sandwiches and about four o'clock we eat the peppers?", proposed Chris, tilting his head and looking at Nick questioningly.

"Yup. With more sandwiches," he chuckled as he looked over his shoulder. "Going to check on the cleaning crew to see how long it's going to be." With that he turns around and heads upstairs to check on the cleaning crew.

After Nick left Chris doubled the tempo of making sandwiches so in the end he found himself with plate so full of it how it could be. With an amused chuckle he shook his head and took out two beers, waiting for his boyfriend to return so they could eat together. It was just sandwiches.. but it was still better to eat them with someone else and not alone.
