Adriel could feel the atmosphere of the bookstore change slightly, but could not care less as he sat to his lunch in silence. Damn the fact that he was a vampire: it meant no silverware. He could hear Lloyd's heavy breathing, heavier than usual. Poking his head around the door, he looked at the hunter. His face was slightly flushed, but his eyebrows were furrowed. "Lloyd, what's wrong? Are you alright?"

"Can we talk in private?" Lloyd asked.

He stood up, and lead Adriel into the stockroom.

"Adriel... Do you still love me?" He asked.

[axysses]

"Uh..." Shit, this is exactly the kind of situation I want to avoid, Adriel inwardly bashed himself as he replied. "To be honest, I'm not sure. One part of me wants nothing to do with you. That part doesn't want me to be near a hunter, and doesn't want me to be bogged down by anyone. The other part of me likes you, loves you, and wants to help you avenge your father, even if it means killing myself..." the last sentence he said quietly, staring at his now empty plate.

"I'm confused, to be honest, about my feelings towards you."

[Luvtehyaoi]

"Adriel... I'm sorry." Lloyd sighed. "If you want to kill me, just kill me... Please?" He softly sobbed. "I... I love you... I don't want to hurt you... Even if it means..."

[axysses]

Oh shit, Adriel's face sank. "Oh my god Lloyd, please don't cry, please please please." Adriel tried not to draw himself to the man but suddenly he couldn't help himself. As he wrapped strong, gentle arms around Lloyd, he whispered into his ear, "I don't want to kill you. I just question why I didn't act like how I usually act. I know you love me, but if you want to be at peace with your father's case, you might have to accept that you'll have to sacrifice something." He hugged Lloyd closer to his chest, feeling a pang of guilt pierce through his heard, like a wooden stake. He had once experienced the pain of a stake through his heart: had his father not saved him, he would have been destroyed. This pain of guilt made him reminisce of it as he winced, taking in Lloyd's scent and the smell of his pure, emotional tears.

"I'm not going to kill you." Lloyd said, taking a deep breath.

"You're more important than my stupid, petty revenge. I love you."

[axysses]

Adriel looked into Lloyd's eyes, feeling his own doubts melt all of a sudden. Those eyes held a sincere belief and love, albeit from an initial bout of puppy love. But Adriel could not deny the man. Every fibre of his being now suddenly turned to Lloyd as he kissed the hunter tenderly on the lips, tasting his tears as they fell. "Don't cry, Lloyd," he whispered between the kisses. "Tonight. I'll find out about your father's murder by tonight." He took in the vast smell of Lloyd that encircled him, intoxicating him as he continued to tenderly smother Lloyd's lips with his own, just so he would stop crying. "It breaks my heart to know that I made you cry. I'm sorry, Lloyd."

"No, I'm sorry. Thank you." Lloyd replied, kissing him passionatly.

"I love you so much... I promise I'll never hurt you."

[axysses]

Adriel held the kiss a while longer, before hearing the bell jingle. "There are customers," he whispered, giving Lloyd one last peck on the cheek. He was determined to finish the rest of the day without being distracted, and he would go back home to inquire about this. Adriel didn't want Lloyd to get involved, not when vampire fights could turn horribly ugly, especially between the head and his supposed heir. He pushed up his glasses, greeting the customer with a smile as he let them browse freely for their pleasure.

Lloyd went back to the till of the coffee shop, and took a few more orders.
