"I'm sorry, you know how terrible I am at this. Somehow nothing comes out right with me and cooking."
He felt that hand on his arm, and it sent a tingle up Shizu and into his depths. He turned his gaze to that embarrassed smile, those eyes, that voice. It was too much, all of a sudden. In that moment he found aku as beautiful and enchanting as his mother had been. Feelings flooded through shizu, ones he wasn't ready to be feeling so strongly.
"aku...I...excuse me a moment, I'll be right back and help you finish."
Somehow he managed to maintain his composure, his self control was very strong, but he had to take a moment. He touched aku's hand tenderly, and then stepped away, walking into another room, taking a deep breath, shoulders shaking slightly. He couldn't be feeling these kinds of feelings for another man could he? This, this wasn't supposed to be happening. But he couldn't' deny the feelings he had just felt, the way his heart had begun to pound when he had felt aku's touch and looked into his eyes. He had feelings for the young man. That only caused another wall to come crashing inside on his heart. He had promised to look out for Aku, what kind of terrible man was he, developing such feelings for the son of his friends. A young man who if things had been different could have even been his own son. Aku would probably think he was a monster, and never want to speak with him again if he revealed this. Shizu took another deep breath, collecting himself, getting ready to go back in and help. He felt confused, and guilty, and yet he craved to be around aku again. The only time he felt any peace or joy.
