Naruto turned to his side to look at Shikamaru, he loved how gentle he looked now, he wasn't agressive or cruel. Naruto giggled as he let Shikamaru fit the pieces of necklace together, he looked deeper into Shikamaru's eyes and blushed. Naruto smiled at Shikamaru's words, he felt the same way, he wanted to be with Shikamaru forever and ever. Naruto leaned in and kissed Shikamaru's lips, "I love you too Sikamaru Nara.. And I can't picture anyone else to spend my life with other then with you" he smiled as he kissed Shikamaru again. Naruto then burried his face cutely into Shikamaru's chest, showing he was shy that he just admitted it to his lover.

Shikamaru placed both hands on the back of Naruto's head, holding it firmly against his toned chest. He leaned down, placing a small kiss on the top of Naruto's head. "Naruto..." Shikamaru whispered. He reached for the covers and pulled it over himself and his naked lover. Last thing he would want is for Naruto to catch a cold because they fell asleep naked. Shikamaru awoke the next morning very early, before the sun had begun to rise. He had a very important S-Class Mission he had to embark on, and didn't want Naruto to fret over him. He slowly receded out of the bed, making sure not to wake Naruto up (not that he could, his lover could sleep through a train wreck). He slipped on his ninja gear and his forehead protector, only going back to his bed to give Naruto a kiss.

He leaned forward and kissed Naruto on the forehead. "I'll be right back Naruto." Shikamaru hesitated. It was never for certain if he would return to Konoha, especially since this was an S-Class Mission. "I love you Naruto." He fixed the covers, tucking his lover in to make sure he had a peaceful rest as he left for his mission.

Naruto smiled in his sleep, not hearing anything or even showing signs of waking up, he only heard the words, "I love you" he turned over as he got tucked back in. Naruto smiled as he dreamed about their lives together, he blushed as he did. Naruto's eyes opened slowly as it was the afternoon now, he rubbed his eyes and turned to look at what he thought would be Shikamaru, "Shika..." he blinked as the bed was empty. Naruto looked around as he sighed, "Guess he had a mission again... Maybe I should make him something for when he gets back..." Naruto got up and pulled on a clean pair of boxers, he walked to the kitchen and sighed as he looked, he had a lot more food then he remembered. Naruto thought of several things he could make, "I'm in the mood for cookies..." Naruto sighs as he pulled all the things he needed and started making the dough, he for some reason Naruto was worried, maybe it was because he loved Shikamaru so much he couldn't bare being away from him? Naruto shook his head and went back to work.

After he finished getting everything ready he smiled as he put the cookies in the ovens, he was actually proud of himself, he never really cooked before, but something made Naruto want to cook. Naruto sat and waited for the cookies to finish baking, he laid in bed looking up at the ceiling as he waited for Shikamaru to come home. Naruto wondered what kind of missions he was on right now, he couldn't stop worrying for some reason, he knew Shikamaru could do it if he planned it out like he did everything else.

Shikamaru felt completely aggravated. It turned out the S-Class Mission had been nothing but mere reconnaissance. He was sent to spy on some of Orochimaru's previous experiments with Asuma-sensei and Gai-sensei. They spent the entire day shadowing these people, waiting for something interesting to happen, but nothing ever did. He hated this mission right now. He could be home, cuddling with his lover as they watched a romantic comedy on his television right now.

He looked down, holding the necklace in his hand. "Naruto..." It had only been a few hours but his heart was aching for his sexy blonde lover. He was to keep track of these fools for three days. Three days without his lover...this was going to be tough.

Naruto sighed as he got dressed and pulled the cookies out of the oven and placed plastic over them to make sure they stay nice and soft. Naruto went outside and walked down the street, he looked around and sighed as he held his necklace in his hand, "Shikamaru..." he whispered. He headed to the Hokage building to ask Tsunade if Shikamaru was on a mission, he was on an S-Rank Mission for 3 days. Naruto left the office without a word, he cried a bit as he walked to Shikamaru's favorite spot, he looked out of the corner of his eye and saw Kiba comming out of the mini mart, Naruto wasted no time getting away from the area. Naruto knew Kiba never gave up and he would risk his lovers happiness if Kiba acted stupid. Naruto went up to the roof and smiled as he laid back and watched the clouds, he wondered if Shikamaru was watching them too. Naruto sighed as it was sunset again, "Day 1 of no Shikamaru.... 2 Days more to go..." he whimpered a bit. Naruto wished there was something for him to do, but nothing could be thought of.

Naruto closed his eyes and let the sun set, he felt the cool night air as he opened his eyes. Naruto stood up and started his walk home, he wondered why Shikamaru never took him out this late. Shikamaru always had Naruto home by the end of sunset, Naruto walked all the way home and closed the door, he locked it and went to bed while stripping off his clothes. Naruto was completely nude as he laid face first in bed, he sighed as he remembered Shikamaru wasn't here, so instead he went to bed hoping the 3 days would be over soon.

Shikamaru continued his watch on the targets. The sun was setting. Normally he would be next to Naruto, snuggled closely to the blonde as they watched the sunset. Shikamaru always loved sky watching and found the sunset one of the most beautiful things on this planet Earth. He used to say it was the most beautiful thing, but then he met Naruto. This mission sucked balls. They weren't allowed to get proper rest. They had to sleep in shifts as they always had to keep an eye on the targets.

Shikamaru laid in his makeshift cot, looking up at the clouds, wondering if Naruto would still watch them even if he wasn't there. He missed Naruto so much, he started to cry out of loneliness. It was like a part of him was missing, he couldn't bare it.
