Naruto sighed as he closed his eyes, he thought maybe if he dreamt about Shikamaru he could feel his love. Naruto did, he thought of how much he loved Shikamaru, their times shared watching the coulds. Naruto curled into a tight ball as he smiled, "Night my love..." he whispered as he blushed, he didn't care if Shikamaru was there or not. Naruto smiled in his sleep, never once did he frown when he was asleep. Naruto held a pillow close whishing it was SHikamaru and not a pillow.

Shikamaru couldn't sleep. He missed the warmth of his beautiful partner next to him. When he was beside him, he knew that he was safe, and he knew Naruto was safe. Now, he laid here looking at the stars, crying like a baby because he missed his boyfriend. He held his necklace tightly in his hands as he thought of Naruto. It had been only one day! Just one and he was already this sad and lonely. He curled up into a tight ball, wishing his beautiful boyfriend was beside him. He knew that Naruto was safe, but he just wanted him here. He missed his warmth, his goofy smile, his golden blonde hair, the way he'd smile when they watched the sunset...he missed him.

Naruto woke up the next morning, but instead ow doing anything he just laid in bed. Naruto saw no reason to leave his room, he sighed as he cried a bit, he wanted Shikamaru to be here, laying next to him and smiling. Naruto pulled the covers over his head and decided not to leave the bed till Shikamaru came home. Naruto kissed his necklace as he sang to himself, "I wish you where here..." he cried more before falling asleep. Naruto wanted to feel his lovers embrace, he wanted to feel safe once more in the arms that have explored his body and claimed each and every part of his being.

Naruto woke up again late int he day, he got up and wrapped himself in the sheets and opened the screen door to walk on the balcony. He laid down on the cool wood floor and watched the clouds roll by, he saw Shikamaru in each cloud. Naruto closed his eyes till he felt the sun go down, the cool breeze crazing his naked form. Naruto opened his eyes and sat up, wrapping himself int he blankets and going back inside, "Day... 2...." he whispered as he held his necklace close to his heart. Naruto sat in their bed and laid down, he waited from Shikamaru to ravish his naked form, but nothing happened and he cried more. Naruto ignored his hardon and went to bed. Naruto could sleep, he was to worried for his lover. Naruto finally cried himself to sleep, wishing to feel Shikamaru touch already.

Shikamaru woke up, or rather, pretended to. He couldn't sleep last night, just thinking about how warm he would be next to his lover. He took up his shift, grabbing the binoculars from Asuma-sensei.

"Don't worry Shika, the first day is always the hardest." Asuma told him as he handed him the binoculars. Shikamaru continued to be amazed at how well Asuma was able to read him. He sighed, trying to rid his thoughts of Naruto so he could focus on the mission at hand. It was near impossible, but he managed to clear most of his thoughts. He held onto one memory, the first time they told each other they loved each other on the way to the strip club. It put a smile on his face, something Shikamaru had not been able to do since he started the mission.

Finally, something happened. One of the ex-experiments, a tall male fellow began to lose his mind. He started lashing out on the others, eventually putting a kunai through the other experiments. Shikamaru looked back to Gai and Asuma-sensei who were sleeping. He didn't have time to wake him up. He had to catch this dude before he killed anymore. He leaped through the bushes. "Stop right there!" Shikamaru yelled. The man only smiled at him psychotically, licking his lips.

"You want some too?!" The man lunged at him with the kunai. Shikamaru quickly dodged them.

"How troublesome..." he muttered as the man kept throwing punches and kicks his ways, Shikamaru dodging them all. Then, he heard something crack. The man stood still as he heard something crack, this time watching as the man eye's turned red. "What the fuck did Orochimaru do to these people?!" Shikamaru thought as he tried to dodge his blows. It became harder and harder, whatever happened to the man, it made him faster and tougher. Sooner or later, Shikamaru was getting struck, as the man's punches started to land. "Ah!" Shikamaru cried out as he got hit square in the jaw, sending him to the floor.

He looked up at the man who loomed over at him, who tilted his head. "Hey, what's that shiny thing on your neck?" The man reached down and gripped Shikamaru's gift from Naruto, ripping it off his neck. "This is mighty pretty. Bet I might make a buck or two if I sell it." Something snapped inside of Shikamaru now.

"Shadow Bind Jutsu!" Shikamaru yelled, quickly freezing the opponent. "You're going to pay for that. NO ONE FUCKS WITH MY NARUTO!" Shikamaru yelled. He picked up his hand, forcing the man to do so as well. He waved bye-bye to the man with his left hand, once again the man followed. Then, with his right hand, he brought it to his throat, forcing the man to do so as well; however, in the man's hand was a kunai. Shikamaru swiped his hand across his throat, making the man slit his own throat, watching him die before his eyes.

The man fell to the floor, blood spurting out of the huge gash in his neck. Shikamaru walked over and grabbed the necklace back from his cold, dead hands. Shikamaru couldn't believe it, he just killed a man. What bothered him the most was that he didn't feel bad about it. No remorse whatsoever. He just felt happy that his necklace was back in his possession. He walked back to their camping spot, laying down next to Asuma-sensei. He was so exhausted. He felt his eyelids get heavy as he drifted off to sleep.

Naruto turned over to his side and opened his eyes, it was still night time, but he couldn't sleep, he wanted Shikamaru right now, he knew there was only one thing he could think of to help him, even if it's just a little. Naruto got out of bed and did a few hand seals, "Shadow Clone Jutsu" he whispered, he looked at his naked clone, he sighed as he did some more hand seals, "Transformation Jutsu" he muttered as he looked off to the side. Naruto looked back and smiled slightly as his clone looked exactly like Shikamaru, he was slightly happier now, but he still wanted the real thing, "Come to bed.." he said as he climbed back in bed, the clone followed and brought Naruto close to comfort him, wrapping his arms around Naruto as if to protect him. Naruto closed his eyes as he blushed, he was happy to have someone in bed with him that wasn't a total stranger, he cuddled up with his Shikamaru clone and fell back to sleep.

It was the last day. The mission was cut short since there was no one left to do recon on. He wasn't sure how the Hokage was going to respond to him killing one of the designated experiments that was supposed to stay alive. It turns out she was very reasonable. Tsunade always had a soft spot for Shika. She knew all the decisions he made were usually thought out and logical, and not brash and hasty. She'd flip her lid if she found it he did it for Naruto.

He dashed home after reporting to the Hokage, deciding to surprise his lover by climbing through the balcony. He walked in and saw Naruto, and his heart nearly sank when he saw a look-alike of him cuddled up with him. It was nice to know that Naruto was just as lonely without him as he was. He quickly stripped, getting naked like his doppelganger and walked over to the bed. He tapped his clone on his shoulder, waking him up, but telling him to be quiet. He gave the clone permission to leave, and in a cloud of smoke he was gone.

He crawled in bed with Naruto, taking up the same position as his clone did. He wondered how long it would take his lover to realize it was the real him. He just smiled. He was finally complete again.

Naruto felt a sudden warmth, something warmer then usual, he opened his eyes slowly and looked at Shikamaru, he crawled ontop of Shikamaru and blushed as he placed his ear to his lovers chest, he could hear his loves heart beating faster then the clones, "Shika!!" he cried a bit as he nuzzled into the crook of his lovers neck. Naruto was happy to have Shikamaru back, he moved back to look in Shikamaru's eyes as he smiled and held his necklace to Shikamaru, "I missed you so much baby..." he blushed. Naruto smiled happily as his tears still fell, he couldn't believe he finally had his lover back, all to himself as he blushed.

Shikamaru wasn't surprised that Naruto was quick to notice. He watched as Naruto shifted his body and continued to gaze as his partner lovingly as the tears escaped the blonde's eyes. He wasn't even aware of the tears escaping his own tear ducts. "I've missed you so much too baby." Shikamaru whispered. He wiped the tears off of his lover's face with his thumb. "Don't cry baby, I'm here now." Shikamaru added before leaning in to kiss his lover. He pressed his lips gently onto Naruto's. God, how he missed those lips.

Naruto blushed as he felt Shikamaru wipe his tears away, he smiled happily as he clung tight to Shikamaru, and kissed his lips in return, he couldn't believe how much it hurt while he was away. Naruto broke the kiss as he looked into Shikamaru's eyes, "I think you're going to be proud of me... I didn't touch myself the entire time you were away" he said proudly, he ran his fingers along Shikamaru's chest as he blushed. Naruto looked back into his lovers eyes as he smiled, he missed Shikamaru so much, he wanted to just tie him down and make Shikamaru fuck him, but he knew that might get him a punishment.
