John was looking outside when he heard Gary's question. He turned his gaze to him and then just blinked few times. Then he looked at his jacket as if he needed to check what he was wearing.
"Uh.. T-thanks.. Jane made me buy it some time ago.. saying I look se.. good in it", he answered after few moments. "It's the first time I wear it.."

[Amethystaura]

"She said you look sexy, huh?" Gary grinned. "Not bad. For all you know you could turn a few heads in that one. Maybe handsome male heads."

He leaned back against his chair and looked out the window. "Nice view."

John blushed up to his ears.
"F-for now you are the centre of attention and I don't think I would be ever one.. to attract. But it really is a nice view."

Gary chuckled at John's words, but didn't pursue the subject. The younger man didn't realise how cute he looked. If Gary mentioned it it might embarrass him again.

"Who knows, if you like this place well enough, you could come here again on another date with a decent guy."

John looked at Gary really surprised and he wasn't sure if he heard correctly. 'Another date'? Was it a date? Now and here.. with Gary? No..
"What do you mean by 'another date'? We aren't on a date, right? So it would be the first date in here?", he asked before he managed to shut his mouth.
When he heard his own question he just sat there too stunned by it to move or even blink.

Gary looked at him in surprise and then burst out laughing heartily.

"Of course this isn't a date. I don't think you'd ever want to date me. What I meant is that if you like this place you can come here on a date with someone else."

"Good joke. And besides you aren't gay so it's... mhm.. stupid to even talk about it", he sighed, looking through the window.
Why he felt so disapointed? Something was wrong with him any time he was around Gary and he really didn't understand it. He was almost a stranger. Someone he barely knew from the work.

There was a short silence and Gary sensed that the other man's mood had undergone a slight change, but he hadn't the slightest idea why. In any case this outing was going to be no fun if John was grumpy, and it would make Gary feel awful, even if it weren't his fault.

"Hey, you sit tight. I'll go get our order. Tasty food coming up!"

John massaged his temples as Gary stood up. He sighed and tried to relax himself as he knew he would destroy all this going out if he would act like that. Gary was a really nice person so he should try and be nice in return. With few relaxation excercises he was once more calm when all of the sudden someone patted his arm. He flinched a bit startled and turned around. Behind him stood the worst person he could meet here - his ex boyfriend.
"Hi there. Ah.. how I missed this glare of yours", said the man gripping his hair and licking him in the ear.
"Fuck.. you.. David", growled John back trying to punch other man but his hand was catched in the painful grip.
"O-ho~ Looks like someone grow the balls, hm? Maybe I should tie you to the table and fuck you hard to make you remember how a good bitch should act?", David hissed.
John paled. David was someone like that so it was actually possible for him to do something like that. John started to shiver.

"And finally, here are your milkshakes." The woman smiled brightly at Gary and the fully loaded tray he bore. "Enjoy your hearty meal and don't forget to ask for seconds if you want!"

"Gotcha. And thanks, lady!"

Gary hummed happily as he started heading back to their table. He froze mid stride, bearing the tray in his hands. There was what looked like a very domineering jerk who was what looked like molesting and harassing his buddy. This was...unacceptable.

Gary nearly dropped the tray in anger, but at the last second his presence of mind kicked in and he set it down on an empty table nearby.

David suddenly found himself being hauled back by the scruff of his neck and having his face slammed against the nearest wall. Gary was careful to keep him at an arm's length, so as to dodge retaliatory punches.

"What's the big idea? You the janitor around here or something?"
