Gary chuckled and got down on his knees. The kittens sniffed him with their tiny noses, and then some of them tried to either climb him or strop on his thick black trousers or rub against his leg.

"They're pretty damn cute, huh? Reminds me of some I'd wanted to keep as a kid, but couldn't since my big brother was allergic to them."

When the kittens started all the sniffing and climbing stuff it made John chuckle but when he heard what the other said he let out the heavy sigh.
"Well.. When I wanted a cat my father said no adding something like 'If you have enough time to think about having a pet then learn more.' Or... something like that..", he said quietly, looking away.
The way other man was acting somehow made him say things he wouldn't tell just anyone. It was refreshing, interesting and stressful at the same time.

Gary scratched the kittens behind the ear, and looked up at John with a sympathetic smile. "That's a pity. But at least you've got these 3 keeping you company now. I go home everyday to an empty apartment, you come home to 3 loving kittens."

He stood up. "Sorry if this was an inconvenient visit. See you on Monday. Good night, John." He gave him a two finger salute & then was off.

"It was ok.. and it's ok if you ever would want to see them again..", he said for the goodbye and then chuckled seeing the salute.
Closing his doors somehow he was really happy. Gary presence somehow made him feel better. Before he went to bed he spent some time on playing with cats and then on reading a book. It was really well spent short time and he fell asleep with a smile on his lips.

Gary had a smile on his lips too as he drove home leisurely. The thought of those adorable kittens...and strangely enough, the unguarded smile on John's face. It made him feel happy and less alone as he walked into his empty apartment, taking care not to trip over an empty beer bottle.

Within 20 minutes he was out cold in bed.

And then started Sunday. It started all innocently and slowly with John waking up from some sweet dream with a cat on his chest. Then he ate nice, lazy breakfast and then.. called Jane. Sweet, sweet awful Jane that set him up with that asshole from another time.
"Shopping time, you social disaster~", she said hitting the high notes.
It was purposely, she knew he hated it.
"No. You have a ban."
"Why~?"
"Your date was a disaster and now I feel like the idea to hate you is a really good option."
"Ha and haha. I'm on your parking lot so move your pretty, fuckable ass and come on."
With that she hang up on him and somehow they ended few hours later in the restaurant nearby his workplace with a car full of bags and him asking himself how his best friend can be such a person.

"Silly girl, you know this is hardly my thing," Gary half grumbled and half whined, as he pulled his car up in the parking lot. He'd so been looking forward to a lazy Sunday, perhaps flipping through some naughty magazines or watching television or giving his brother a surprise visit. But the bloke's agenda was thrown away as he received a call from his rather demanding friend. Agnes, with the long wavy auburn hair and the beauty spot on her chin, was quite a force to reckon with. Even during their days in university trainee programs, Gary could easily imagine her being a dominatrix.

"What you like isn't important, you have some free time and your friend needs you to help her pick a new outfit for her upcoming TV program debut. That's all that's important, Gary. You're a hot blooded man who also has no intentions of trying to get in my pants, so I'll be needing your input."

Agnes snapped her fingers in front of his face. "Gary, out of the car now! I've got to see if I can get any of those new pencil skirts, before they go out of stock!"

Gary got out of the car and followed her inside the shopping mall, mumbling something about how she could always bully them to bring in fresh stock.

After they finished eating they went to another shop. John was tired and would love to to go home but he knew Jane wasn't to give up easily and he didn't have enough energy to oppose her right now. As they entered the shop he immediately saw Gary with some beatiful woman. She looked like Jane kind of woman - strong willed and stubborn. The other man didn't saw him as she showed him some skirts.
"Hello~ Earth to John, Erath to John, do you copy?", sighed Jane waving her small hand before his face.
He looked at her with a surprise.
"Yes. I'm still here. Who is the handsome guy you stared at?"
"I didn't stare.."
"Yes. Sure. And I have have horns.."
"That wouldn't surprise me", he sighed. "He is just some guy from my work.."
"That you like enough to stare at him~"
John just sighed and didn't say anything back. Gary was an interesting guy as he made him lately act like someone he didn't know so it was just natural for him being curious about him.
Jane just left it as it was for now since she didn't want to be left alone in the shopping centre and she knew that if she would push now that would be the result.
John at the same time felt stress build up in him as he didn't know if he should say hallo or not.

Gary just leaned against the wall with a bored expression on his face, giving as much input as he could.

"Yeah you could go for a darker shade of red. No it's not to long for a skirt. You don't have to do the belt thing. I've never heard of that designer. What?! It's normal for a guy to never hear of designers!"

Agnes sighed, and based on Gary's suggestions, marched off to the trial rooms with 5 skirts on her arm. "Stand outside the trial room! So I can come out and show you whatever I'm wearing. And keep that orange slit thigh skirt on your arm, I'll be trying that out too!"

Gary sighed and started making his way to the trial rooms. He caught sight of John and stopped, expecting to see him accompanied by a woman, since they were in the women's section of the store. However he was there alone. Was the guy a cross dresser? None of Gary's business any way.

"'Sup?" he said with a friendly wave. "Fancy running into you here. I'm here to buy a skirt." He joked, holding up the orange skirt with the thigh high slit. "But it won't suit me so I'm getting them for my friend."
