John flinched a little when Gary looked at him and said hello.
"Hi.. Shopping with a friend. Well... I don't think pink is good for you. Try green or brown", he said as he tried to joke back. "I guess we.."
He stopped when Jane showed up to ask John what he was thinking about the dress.
"Oho? Nice skirt, man. Hallo, I'm Jane. Nice to meet you. Are you here with someone or just getting it for yourself? You would better try brown or green if so."
John chuckled quietly.
"We said the same thing..", said John when Jane looked at him questioningly.

Gary joked, "Nah I'm here with a rather bossy lady friend. I was actually carrying this skirt because I thought it might suit John."

He reached out a hand to Jane. "Gary Kaburagi. And you look great in that dress."

"I'm Jane Winter. Nice to meet you and thank you for the compliment", she said as she grabbed Gary's hand and shook it vigorously. "And he sure have a nice ass but that pink isn't really his color too."
John sighed and hid his face with his hand.
"You know.. Maybe I will go now.. You have Gary now.. and his friend", he said as he was ready to go but Jane just gave him that "look" so he just sighed. "Ok, ok. Hurry up, will you?"
Jane sighed too and went to try the next thing.

"Woah, firm handshake," Gary grinned. "See ya," he called as Jane went off. He felt a little sorry for John with the remark about his ass, but discreetly avoided mentioning it. John did have a cute butt though, Gary had just casually noticed. Just then Agnes came outside in a short skirt and grabbed the one Gary had on his arm.

"Where were you, I told you to stand outside the trial room! And I'm taking this skirt now - oh hello, I don't think I've met you."

She looked at John

"I don't think so too", John answered shortly almost glaring at the woman.
He didn't really like how she formed the last sentence and he was already ticked off by spending his free day on shopping.

Agnes raised an eyebrow, not knowing what she'd said or done that could possibly earn her such a look, but not very pleased with it.

"Ok then, I'm Agnes, Gary's friend." She nodded her acknowledgement politely, before disappearing into the trial rooms with her skirt.

John sighed. Now he was ashamed with himself. How could he be so boorish to the woman that didn't do anything wrong? He felt stress rising in him.
"Do you enjoy going for shopping sprees?", he asked Gary all of a sudden.
Well.. he was actually curious. There wasn't anything wrong with the question, right?

Gary sighed on Agnes' behalf, but chuckled at the question.

"Can't say I do. I'm just accompanying Agnes because she wants my opinion on what she wears. But occasionally shopping isn't all that bad when I can find stuff like this."

He picked up a colourful sun cap and turned it over.

"Used to wear this as a kid. Glad to see kids nowadays still buy this, even though I'm too old for it now."

"Yes.. Maybe.. But I would love to stay home and spent the day slowly and quietly. Tomorrows Monday and I got robbed of my weekend..", sighed John, rubbing his neck.
When he saw the colourful sun cap he chuckled a bit.
"Why not? You would look adorable", he said with a smirk.
How could this be that Gary could make him laugh so easily? John would love to know that.

Gary laughed at John's comment as he replaced the cap. "Now you made me think about buying it for you."

He looked at his watch. "Agnes should be done soon. I don't know about Jane though. These women have a mind of their own when it comes to shopping sprees. But look at the bright side. After it's over, you still have the rest of the day to go home and relax."
