Inside The Heart of A Vampire

Daemon placed the violin back into the case and stood up from where he had been sitting. He placed the instrument back near the piano and sighed heavily. The house was so quiet now. Almost too quiet for Daemon's tastes. He had wanted to be alone but now the loneliness was driving him towards depression. Why did Nathaniel have to be so difficult? Why couldn't he just go back to being the sweet little boy from before. He had just become a teenager and his attitude did a 180. He sighed again and caught the sound of Vladimir doing the dishes. Poor man. Daemon had been neglecting him in favor of basically bottling up his emotion and anguish.

He walked to the kitchen and stood in the doorway, watching Vladimir wash dishes for a bit. The vampire was so sweet and all Daemon had done is push his away. He walked over to the other man and wrapped his arms around him from behind, burying his face in the man's shoulder blades. He gripped Vladimir's shirt tightly and nuzzled the man's back.

"I-I'm so sorry my love..."

Vladimir blinked feeling a familiar pair of arms wrap around him and he placed his hands over Daemon's as his lover gripped his shirt. He purred softly as well feeling Daemon nuzzle into his shoulder blades. "Honey, it's okay...you don't need to apologize. I'm feeling as strained as you are. I understand you need your space." he said softly as he rubbed one of Daemon's hands.

"I know but I've been neglecting you because of the way Nathaniel is behaving... You... You're so patient and all I have done is push you away. It drives me mad with want for you yet the depression caused by Nathaniel's recent behavior is causing me to push you away..."

Daemon sighed against the man's back and dropped his hands, walking to get between Vladimir and the sink. He wrapped his arms around the man's neck and looked up at the taller vampire. So much patience and love. Yet all Daemon had ever done was yell at him when certain memories came back up or throw things when he had been carrying the man's child. But Vladimir never once harmed him or raised his voice. The older man would be stern when he had to be, but never raised his voice. Daemon smiled up at the man and got on his toes to place a loving kiss on the vampire's lips.

Vladimir returned the kiss whole-heartedly after placing his hands on Daemon's waist after feeling those slender arms wrap around his neck. Most people would consider him insane, or even a fool, for welcoming this man into his arms after all the tantrums, all of the breakdowns, and all of the times Daemon called him names only to turn around and apologize after calming down. However, that was part of the reason why Daemon made Vladimir crazy for him. Daemon was broken, even still now that their son was acting up, and Vladimir was the only one who could deal with these emotional displays and still have the patience to stand there and take whatever Daemon wanted to do to him without raising his voice or even frown at what was being said or done to him. Most times, he just stood there with a blank expression and let Daemon get his frustrations out. With the distance, Vladimir pretended that he didn't mind and would instead not even push Daemon into being intimate. Recently, he wouldn't even sit on the sofa with Daemon unless Daemon told him he didn't mind. That's how patient he was and how much he wanted to show Daemon that, no matter how bizarre or extreme, Vladimir would never do anything Daemon didn't want or anything to intentially upset his lover. He was stern when he needed to be, but he never yelled or threatened Daemon with anything. He still refused to even grab Daemon's arms to try and get Daemon back to his senses.

"What kind of lover would I be if I wasn't patient with you? This is stressing me as much as it is you, but I don't want to make it worse by putting pressure on you to be intimate or have chores ontop of dealing with a teenager." Vladimir said softly.

Daemon smiled against Vladimir's lips and almost frowned when they pulled away. He blinked, actually surprised with how close he was to the man right now. Recently he would barely come within arm's length of the older vampire, mostly out of shame for pushing him away and out of fear of Vladimir attempting to get intimate. His mental state was terrible yet, Vladimir took everything he had ever said, done, thrown, threatened, and turned around to place kisses on Daemon's lips. He placed another kiss on Vladimir's neck and brought his hands to the vampire's cheeks, lightly stroking them with his thumbs.

"I wouldn't know. I've heard of partners who are abusive and some who practically live if fear of the other.. You're better than they are.. since they and I have both had tantrums and thrown things... And I just feel terrible because he's also your son.. You deal with him as well and you still find time to make sure my mental state isn't any more broken than before. I'm just really sorry we haven't kissed or even held hands in so long..." Daemon murmured.

Vladimir stood there and closed his eyes as he felt Daemon place a kiss to his neck while stroking his cheeks with his soft thumbs. His eyes opened only when he heard Daemon murmur those words and his hands slid up from Daemon's waist to his back where Vladimir ran his hands up and down Daemon's back merely out of wanting to comfort his lover. "You have no reason to be sorry. We both knew that this might happen. We both knew we might not be able to handle what came our way, but the point is we're still a team no matter what and I will do whatever it takes to keep you as sane as possible."

Daemon nodded and smiled up at the man. They were a team and they would get through their son's rather rebellious stage together. He wasn't going to get the better of them as long as Vladimir was here. He dropped his hands from the man's cheeks and wrapped them around the vampire's chest, resting his forehead against Vladimir's chest. He smiled to himself and reached down to lift the hem of Vladimir's shirt so he could lightly rake his nails against the man's skin. Maybe they could share a couple moments together today. Nathaniel was rather quiet today compared to normal.

Vladimir shivered a little as Daemon raked his nails lightly against his skin after lifting the hem of his shirt. They hadn't been intimate in so long that just the light raking alone was enough to get a shiver. He had noticed Nathaniel was being more quiet than he usually was, not even a hint of loud, blasting music or stomping. He figured Nathaniel was busy reading. They could use this time to their advantage.

Daemon bit his lip and looked up at Vladimir, a light blush forming on his cheeks. He felt like his stomach was in knots and his heart was pounding about a mile a minute. The younger tiptoed again and pressed a needy kiss to the vampire's lips, gently taking the other's bottom lip between his teeth and lightly pulling before releasing. He gently ran his claws up the man's back and down his spine lightly.

"Nathaniel's quiet... the dishes are done.. we haven't had much time to ourselves~"

Vladimir kissed back gently and purred as his bottom lip was taken only for Daemon to take it between his bottom teeth and lightly pull before releasing it. He shivered once again and gave a deep purr as he felt those claws making their way up his back and then down his spine. "No, we haven't~." he replied softly before leaning in to hungrily suck on the side of Daemon's neck as his hands moved down to bring those beautiful legs up so he could have Daemon sit on the counter.
