Mark of Darkness [private for me and RedRose4]

This time it almost got Ashley. Yes.. now it was more like what he wanted. He was no masochist but without the speed he wanted it wouldn't be much of a practise.

For another hour they fought almost non stop. Somewhere in the middle Ket got at last serious and they had two.. 'accidents'. One was Ket scoring the hit to his own forehead.. and the second was Ashley's broken nose...

"Ouch...", muttered Ashley when he tried to attack with nunchuks and he hit his head pretty hard.
Stuggering a bit he touched his head and looked at the blood on his head.
"Great... I told you it was a bad idea..", he sighed, looking at Ket.

The time that passed was interesting to say the least. Ket didn't hurt himself much, a few hits but nothing that would bruise or make him bleed. When it was Ashley's turn, Ket was about to dodge but he stopped when he noticed he hit himself instead.
"You alright?" Ket asked, slowly walking over to Ashley and checking out his head, wiping it with his hand and trying to prevent any from going towards his eyes if it was bad enough. "Yeah but you tried at least." Ket then chuckled, his eyes on the blood although he resisted it rather easily.

There was just a bit of blood but Ket's hand stopped it from getting into Ashley's eyes.
"True... tried and failed.. ending up being lame", he joked, not really caring about it as much as he sounded. "After this I know one thing was sure - I never would you nunchucks as a weapon. Much too dangerous for me.."

Ket nodded and kept his eyes on the wound, waiting for it to heal before taking his hand away and wiping it on his jeans. "See, you learned something today. Better to use your hands then nunchucks or else they'll knock you out before your enemy does." Ket chuckled, looking at Olivia who was walking over.
"You ready for your test?" She asked Ashley, holding the little mouse in her hand.

Ket eyed it shortly before his eyes focused on Ashley, giving the fake mouse a poke before smiling. "Let's see how your ears work." He muttered while stepping back, allowing Ashley and Olivia to speak.

"Yes. I was actually thinking about it.. So... What do I do to find this thing?", asked Ashley, poking the mouse that Olivia was holding in her heand. "How much time do I have? And what would happen if I would fail to find it on time?"
Ashley was quite excited with the test.. though there was a possibility he would fail.. and he just wanted to know exactly what would that mean for him. Only embarrassement or something more..

Olivia smiled a little and looked around the room. "Simply enough, I'm going to put this somewhere, turn it on and then I'll help you try to find it, well...I'll show you how you can find it." Olivia then smiled and tilted her head to the side. "If you don't find it, then I guess you'd just be the only one in class that didn't, no punishment for it though. You have thirty minutes maximum, before the next class challenge. Are you ready?" She asked.
Olivia then smiled. "If so, turn around and close your eyes so I can hide it."

Nodding his head he turned around, closed his eyes and waited for Olivia to tell him if he could start.. and tell him how to actually do it. Rubbing his forehead he realised it was probably dirty from the blood from before. He would need to remember to clean it when he would be back in the room.

Olivia knew exactly where he was going to put the little toy mouse. Walking towards one of the combat dummies, she carefully put it behind the head, setting it down and making sure it wouldn't fall before switching on the heartbeat sound and slowly walking back towards Ashley.
As she got there, Olivia smiled and put a hand on his shoulder. "Okay, now..do you know where it is before I begin to help you?" She asked, having a reason why she already asked if he knew.

"Do I open my eyes or not? And no.. I don't have a faintest idea. Should I know it already?", asked Ashley, feeling stress slowly rising in his as his own heart started to beat much quicker.

"Yes, open your eyes if you'd prefer." Olivia said calmly before smiling. "No, it's almost impossible for a new vampire to detect it now, although last year I had a male student find it in seconds. How? He waited for me to turn it on, and when he heard the new heartbeat in the room he knew exactly what one it was and where it was coming from."
Olivia then looked around and whispered. "Now, remember what we did when you had the blindfold on? How you concentrated? This little mouse has a small heartbeat, it's faster for it's size, but since most people here are taking a break after combat they have fast hearts as well. What you must do is find the smallest, quickest one through the crowd. I can guide you through it." Olivia explained.
