Mark of Darkness [private for me and RedRose4]

Following Rayne he looked with his eyes wide open at all of the needles, chairs and what not. It was like in some nightmare.. or horror movie. Nodding his head at Ket's question he started to tell him what had happened. He was quite sparing with words but at the same time he was able to do quite accurately. Thanks to that he was able to snap out of the distressing feeling that this place caused. When he finished he looked at Ket and waited for his reaction, hoping he wouldn't mind that he pulled him into all of it.

Ket had all of his attention on Ashley, clearly shocked with some of the things that were going to be changed. It was a huge deal, in fact it was probably going to change a lot of things about vampires in general. With a soft smile, Ket hugged Ashley and sighed as he squeezed him.
"Wow, you're amazing for doing that you know? It's really nice...and you're changing peoples lives for the better." Ket let go and glanced back at Destro who still was rather shut down, not saying or doing anything.

Rayne on the other hand kept glancing over at Ashley and Ket, taking out the stack of files and placing them onto the desk that he had cleared for space. Putting out all ten files, Rayne cleared his throat and looked straight at Ashley. "Here...let's look through the papers and see how some of them are. I hear at least one or two....well, I'm not sure if they'll be able to make it through being freed." The vampire said with a low, intangible voice. "After that we can check each one out individually and send them to the infirmary for any wounds that can be fixed."

Ashley didn't really suspect Ket to hug him.. but only when he was called amazing he blushed. Quite embarrassed he shook his head.
"I just done what seemed right..", he protested, not sure how to react so he was quite glad when Rayne put those documents and nodded his head at what other vampire said. "That sounds reasonable."
That said he took the first file to his hand and opened it. It wasn't the easiest lecture for the files were filled with details of experiments and all that. It made him feel sick to know what was done to all those poor people in the cages. Only thing that made him keep reading all that was the thought of all of them being let out from here. Ashley couldn't know that but his face gone sickly pale while he was reading, showing clearly what he felt.

Ket smiled and shook his head. "No one else before you did this...so it means a lot." Looking at the files, Ket took one as well, Destro still was just standing against the wall, and Rayne had one in his hands already.
Clearly no one had wanted to read it, and Rayne purposefully looked for Alra's, deciding he'd make sure Ashley didn't have to read it, seeing how he knew her earlier.

As he went through it, Rayne had to stop a few times to look away, his gut turning in his stomach, making him a little nauseous. It all made him want to help even more, and he was thankful that someone was smart enough to stand up for the people who needed it most.
Rayne read a few more lines, stopping at one in particular as his heart seemed to stop beating. "The fuck...Destro, vampires can't get pregnant right?" he whispered as he walked over to him.

Destro's eyes went to the paper, reading the line and shaking his head. "It's impossible. Only unless they're a hybrid and she isn't one. They didn't inform me on it so I doubt it's true."
Rayne sighed in relief, hoping that what was on the paper was just what was written above it, a 'possibility', and nothing else. "Good." he said before looking at Ashley and seeing the look on his face.

Rayne took a moment before closing his file and walking over to the youngest vampire in the room, resting beside him and speaking to him as he looked at the paperwork. "You know...you don't have to read this if you don't want to. The last paper has the phycological evaluation as to how they're doing mentally. Everything else...is unnecessary to read." Rayne explained.

Ashley was a bit out of it so only when Rayne sat down next to him and spoke up he was able to snap out of it. He shifted his green gaze from the page he was on to other male's face. Then he looked away, rubbing his neck.
"Yes.. I know. But I thought that.. well... they were here.. all alone... and scared so at least I can read that..", he muttered with a small sigh. "What was done to them.. is simply sick."

Rayne looked up from the paper in order to focus more on Ashley. Finding himself starring into his green eyes momentarily, Rayne then sighed and leaned back against the wall when he heard him say that.
"It is disgusting. I only came here once before, and...I swore I'd never return. It was stupid of me, I should have did what you did, spoke up for them. At least now though they have you." Rayne closed his eyes, took a deep breath and spoke softer. "They would have been here for eternity if you hadn't done anything. Destro really can't see how lucky he is to have someone at his side who's so intelligent."
Rayne then glanced at his brother, seeing his eyes resting on him, but showing no hostility. "Make sure you realize that Destro." he mumbled.

Ashley yet once again blushed hearing the compliment. He didn't really think the words 'amazing' or 'intelligent' were right to use in this case but it was still nice to hear it. Though he just did what needed to be done. Nothing more. He was happy all those people would be able to be free. That was what really mattered to him.
"I just done what needed to be done..", he said barely audibly.

Rayne then looked back at Ashley, nodding his head in agreement with his words before opening his file again. "You're right." As Rayne saw one page, he showed it to Ashley and pointed to a single line.
"See this?....I know it probably doesn't help much, but her mental state is perfect, it hasn't changed yet since she was brought in. Most likely because it wasn't very long ago when the testing started but...I'm sure that's a good sign." Rayne said, looking at the picture of Alra before she was 'tortured'. If it weren't for noticing her earlier, he wouldn't have even recognized who she was whatsoever.

"Is it Alra's? That's a good thing to hear. At least she wasn't here long enough to loose her mind together with pinkies..", he said simply.
It was hard to digest that they were all here, suffering and there was so many other vampires under them sleeping, eating and whatever they wished to. Tinking of that made him angry.. but mostly really, really sad.

"Yeah it's her..." Rayne closed the file and smirked. "But she can get her fingers back. Vampires are pretty cool, we can heal and regenerate if we're strong enough. Because she's weak, it's preventing her from healing but I'm sure when she gets blood in her system she could get better."
Rayne then looked at Destro and asked. "Can we start getting them out? The ones that are more sane first, and then see if we can help the ones that lost a bit more control?"

Destro looked at Ashley, and for a moment he was silent. But after a few more second, the vampire spoke in a low voice. "Go ahead. Let out two at a time just to be safe."
Rayne nodded and glanced at Ashley. "Should we go start? We can bring two at a time to the infirmary. We'll have to bring them down to the first floor." Rayne said. "So....I can carry Alra if she can't walk." he then suggested.
