"Hey, Mel, listen, I know this is going to sound rather strange and unexpected, but I really need some time off, so I've decided to go away for a month or so. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking over, after you’re feeling a bit better.”
“Sure, dude, no problem, the man replied. I’ll be up and about in a few days, so you go on and have fun. Talk to ya soon.”
Blake hanged up, feeling rather unpleasant for having dumped everything on his partner. But he really was in desperate need for some quality time all to himself. Besides, a month wasn’t really that long, and he’d be back, running the restaurant before they’d notice he was missing.
