[Fable]

Alexander ruffled Ashley's hair as if in apology.
"You know I'm kidding, right? Don't make that face!" he reassured the other man, careful not to add 'that adorable face'.

Alexander kept walking, thinking that Ashley would keep up, so when he turned around to face him there was some distance between them.
He briefly wondered if he should act angry to get him closer to the kitchen and thus closer to having a warm meal in him. However when he looked at Ashley closely and noted the passion in his eyes, he could tell that was never going to work.
Sighing to himself he tried to muster an explanation.
"Nothing is wrong Ash... It's just... You wouldn't understand. I can't explain it... Not in a way you'd like..." Alexander began, but he struggled to find the rest of the words.
Negating the distance between them with a few steps he found himself hugging Ashley fiercely.
"I'm so glad you're here... God I've missed you so much..." he said in a voice that was so quiet as to be more worrying than a shriek.
There were tears in his eyes, though he quickly dried them in the shoulder of Ashley's garment, hoping he wouldn't notice. He held him a little while longer to reassure him, and then he squeezed him as a blatant reminder.
"Hey... Breakfast..."

Ashley was glad to feel Alexander hugging him closely, and returned the warm embrace, although Alexander still puzzled him. Thankful for the contact, Ashley broke the hug and took Alexander's hand, allowing himself to be led to the kitchen by his lover.

Arriving at the kitchen, Ashley squinted his eyes at the bright light seeping through the glass pane ceiling - his eyes not entirely hardy enough to withstand the light that Alexander could. Eventually, he opted simply to cover his eyes with the long sleeve of his robe.

"Can you tell me where the chair is? The light is giving me a headache..." Ashley said, defeated.

Looking very concerned Alexander took Ashley by the shoulders and led him to the most comfortable seat he could find, a wide vanilla coloured thing in the room connected to the kitchen.
"Stay put baby." he said softly as he left for the kitchen.
While he prepared the meal he tried his best to make reassuring small talk alongside it.

The Kitchen had the advantage of looking out onto a completely wild section of the forest, so luckily any gaps in conversation where filled by Ashley staring at it wide eyed while he cooked in silence.
Finally finished he brought the mostly pathetic attempt at French toast to Ashley on a tray and sat it on his knee, before taking a hold of his chin and looking into his eyes in a clinical fashion.

"Hrm... You don't seem to have any physical problems with your eyes... they're just taking a while to get used to I guess..." he smiled at Ashley's innocent stare and was suddenly driven to lean forward and kiss him deeply.
He shut his eyes and continued the kiss for a small eternity, lost in memory and lust.
Finally taking a chance to breathe he pulled away and sat next to his lover, lying back to make himself comfortable.

"I want to see that tray empty. You listening?"
he said sternly, although he couldn't expect him to enjoy it what with his cooking skills...

Kissing Alexander had eradicated all of Ashley's fears that his love could have been angry with him that day - and it had reminded him of falling in love with Alexander all over again. Some more jumble memories floated around Ashley's mind for the duration of the kiss; a holiday to Paris, being held closely by Alexander as Ashley held his eyes closed tightly, ascending the lift up to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

And then the kiss ended, and Ashley nodded his head, promising to eat the foot in front of him. It looked nice, although Ashley could still not remember ever having seen such a dish before. It smelt faintly familiar, although he couldn't remember where he smelt it from.

Ashley cut a piece of toast away from the slice and placed it in his mouth, chewing slowly, almost investigating it. He looked over to Alexander, who smiled faintly and Ashley's eyes widened. He swallowed the toast excitedly, and exclaimed gleefully "I-I have had this before! I remember now!".

How could he have forgotten sitting next to Alexander at this very table every morning eating one of his favourite breakfast foods? He felt silly and embarassed and blushed slightly. "How did I forget that?" he shook his head and laughed to himself, cutting away another piece of toast.

Alexander sighed deeply in relief.
He supposed that nothing that could have gone wrong had gone wrong. Ashley was eating, speaking with his usual brightness and slowly recalling more memories.

Silently he wondered if Ashley recalled any of their more.. erotic outings, but he tried to banish such thoughts from his mind as he gazed at the innocence before him.
Was it too soon to presume so, or should he play it safe?
Knowing Ashley's personality, it was wise to assume that he'd either blurt them out once he had them, or become aroused by them before making his arousal painfully obvious, consciously or otherwise.
Cuddling up beside Ashley he wrapped an arm around his waist and pulled him as close as possible.
"Would you like to do anything today? " he asked hopefully.
"We could take a walk through the forest, or into town? There's a beach not to far away, it'll be dead on a cold day like this, but the view is to die for."

Ashley smiled happily at the prospect of spending the day with Alexander, and wondered what they could do. When prompted about a trip to the forest, Ashley's face grew red as a stray memory of a naughty camping trip ambled into his consciousness. He had guessed Alexander knew he had recalled the event - not only could Alexander read him like a book, but his childish laughing didn't hide his embarassment very well.

Ashley didn't particularly want to head into town, but the beach sounded like another fun outing. Ashley had always liked exploring nature (which had made the mansion, surrounded by forests, a perfect place for the two of them to live together) and was all the more happy to do so knowing that he would be with Alexander. He elected to go to the beach, as Alexander had seemed most enthusiastic about this choice, and he could explore the forests at his leisure while at the mansion anyway.

Ashley's face blushed scarlet once more, remembering skinny dipping in the freezing waters with Alexander although he tried his best to hide his childish reaction.

Alexander had to look out the window hurriedly to hide his wide grin.
He hadn't elaborated about the forest at all, and yet Ashley was blushing with all the force of a school girl. In fact he found himself becoming pretty horny at what seemed like a now quite distant memory.
They'd had quite an uneventful camping trip, Alexander kicking rocks and climbing trees, Ashley making constant remarks about the nice scenery and panicking when Alexander strayed too far or got them lost...
Then one night while they'd pitched up a tent, after a few hours of sleep, Alexander was woken by a very erotic dream which he decided to share with Ashley... and pretty soon it became a scene so typical he could have sworn he'd seen it in a porn movie.
The most vivid memory in his head was of the delightful noises Ashley had made, the moans and the mewlings as Alexander pounded him into the inflatable mattress, murmuring sweet words of encouragement.
He quickly snapped himself out of this flashback, lest he lost control and decided to recreate the moment right here.
"Alright. The beach it is then. " replied Alexander brightly.
There was nothing like a walk to clear the head, especially during a cold morning on a deserted beach.
If he recalled correctly the weather was set to get better by midday. Perhaps if he kept
Ashley entertained all morning , he'd be in for some fun.
"Maybe we should take the car..." he added as an afterthought, whisking Ashley outside.
The beach was within walking distance, but if it decided to lash down with rain he certainly didn't want to be caught without cover. Not to mention that the car was good for other, less miserable activities..

Before being ushered into the car, Ashley looked at the skies worriedly - it looked as though it was threatening to rain, although given how infamous English whether was for sporadic changes, Ashley hoped it might brighten up during the car journey.

He sat in the passenger seat and allowed Alexander to buckle him in before watching him cross infront of the car and enter the driver's seat. Alexander said something while doing up his seat belt, although Ashley hadn't heard it at all as he was marvelling at the car. He peered in close at the gear stick and took it in his hand, wiggling it slightly.

He hadn't a clue what he was doing and admitted so somewhat shamefully "We won't be able to go to the beach if I can't help you drive this!" he said naively, not realising that sitting in the front of the car didn't necessarily dictate you were part-responsible for driving it.

Seeing Ashley gaze to the skies with a forlorn expression, Alexander patted him on the shoulder in reassurance.
"Don't worry sweetie. I'm sure it'll brighten up. The weather here can't be much worse than back home!" he joked, although he really wasn't that interested in the weather.
Suddenly picking up a persistent cracking sound, he looked down to see Ashley fiddling with the gear stick like a madman.
He gave him a sideways glance and raised an eyebrow as much in curiousity as confusion.
"Uh... could you not mess around with my gear stick?"
He watched as he recoilled with embarrassment and hurriedly released the device before he added under his breath "Plenty of time for that later...".
Helping Ashley find all his memories was likely going to be a pain, but it seemed it would also be amusing to watch.
Starting the car up and putting on a pair of sunglasses (as he often did when driving he slowly pulled out of the front garden and began the crawl down the hill.

"So off to the beach huh? Try not to get lost this time, Hrm?" he chuckled, glad to finally put some of his anxieties aside for now.

Ashley outburst suddenly, seemingly not in control of his response to Alexander's teasing - it seemed almost like a natural reflex to pipe up in such a way. "Oh as if you'd complain if we got lost!" Alexander looked to Ashley, not fully understanding the point he was trying to make.

"Well... If I remember rightly, you were always wandering off and getting us lost and I obviously followed - and thinking on it now, I reckon you got us lost on purpose, just so we could get the tent out and-" he shook his head and laughed "We both know what happened after that!"

Thinking on that naughty night in the tent under the stars some more made a slight bulge grow in Ashley jeans, which he attempted to cover by crossing his arms and leaning forward slightly, although this only made him appear awkward and more suspicious. His attention was diverted, however, by a spec of movement in the corner of his eye accompanied by a tapping sound, followed by another, and another.

Ashley sighed, disappoined "It's raining..."
