Jamie read the message. It really did seem like Damien was eager to spend time with him. As odd as that did sound, Jamie didn't mind at all. The bell rang and the quiet teen got up and headed for Jamie's locker. He saw the smaller teen putting away his books. Jamie thought about putting his away, but he decided to keep it. His backpack had everything in it and he liked to keep it with him, even if it was a bit heavy from his books. "Hey." Jamie said in his cold, calculated tone. "Where do you wanna go? I can drive us wherever. We have this period and lunch before our next class starts." He told his friend.

Damien turned his head seeing Jamie and closed his locker door before putting on the lock. "We could got to a McDonalds or something. Just something we can get and bring back quick so we can eat on the roof." he replied. He was very eager to spend time and talk with Jamie, even if he was a man of little words. "Well, we have an hour before lunch starts, so we don't have to rush." Jamie told Damien. Now that he said it out loud, an hour seemed like such a long time. What was he going to do with Damien for an hour? And then they were spending lunch together, which was another hour. He couldn't help but feel a bit nervous. This was the first time someone ever invited him to do something like this, he really didn't want to blow it by continuing to be so shy. For some reason, some words seemed to escape his mouth. "We could just hang out on the roof until lunch finishes." He told the boy, not entirely sure where the idea came from.

"That's fine too. You want to just get stuff from the vending machine?" Damien asked with an eager smile. He was just happy with whatever Jamie suggested, as long as they got to hang out and talk.

"Follow me." Jamie walked to the staircase, stopping first at the vending machines. He knew Damien said he would treat him, but he didn't want to be that friend. The one that always mooches off of the others. So he bought himself some chips and a Coke. Then, he walked up the staircase to the very top where there was a single door. It was clear no one used it, and almost seemed rusted shut. Jamie pressed hard on the handle of the door. He leaned into it, pressing his shoulder and the rest of his body weight into the door, and sure enough, it flew open. There was a reason not many people knew about this entrance. It took someone of reasonable strength to get that rusted door open, and Jamie was a lot stronger than he looked. "Here we are." He said as he walked out onto the roof.

Damien bought himself a diet coke and some chips and followed Jamie eagerly up the staircase. At first, he thought they would've had to find a crowbar for the door, but then Jamie opened it with such ease and he stared with awe as Jamie busted the door down like it was nothing. He then followed Jamie up to the roof. Damien walked to the very edge and looked out at the view, smiling instantly. He could see most of the town from here behind the fence.

"It's so beautiful and...peaceful up here." Damien said softly, nothing but a gentle breeze to be heard other than their voices.

He then walked away from the fence and climbed ontop of an air conditioning unit. There was graffiti almost staining the whole roof from seniors who were long since graduated, even painted drawings of the schools mascot, the Boars. Damien always thought the mascot was silly, just a wolf pig, but he figured The Hogs was taken by another school. He opened his bottle of soda and just read the random messages. "Class of '95", "Class of '93", "Go, Boars, Go!".

Damien's reaction to the roof was fun to see. He figured that the more energetic teen would appreciate the vista that the roof provided. After all, that was why he invited him up here in the first place. "Yeah. I like the quiet." Jamie replied. He was proud of himself for replying so quickly. He watched as the smaller teen climbed up onto an air conditioning unit and followed him, taking a seat right next to Damien. Jamie turned to talk to Damien when something strange happened. The way the sunlight shined on Damien...it made him look so...soft. It made his smile look even brighter and his eyes seemed to shimmer. The other teen looked...cute? Damien did know Jamie was staring at him. He had that sort of sense. Jamie watched as Damien stared up at the sky, giving his description for his own experience of what sex was like.
