Ethan picked up his pace a bit more he led Rafi thought the forest and came upon the small clearing in which he awoke in. When he got to it he didn't see any obvious signs for a way he came in. It confused him as he still could possibly get to this place. Maybe he really did fall through the floor in the cave and this was just some sort of crazy dream while having some sort of concussion. That had to be it! This really couldn't possibly be real. Though Ethan tried to think of another way until he heard Rafi.

The man thought for a few moments and shook his head "Well I know I wasn't in a forest like this before. Actually I decided to check out a cave that was just a couple miles away from the backyard of my home. I was only a little ways into the cave before the floor gave out on me" he said trying to remember "Next thing I know I wake up in this place, run to see if there was anyone that could help me before I ran into those two thugs and you know the rest" he said as he continued to look around then.

Rafi looked thoughtful. "So... you were exploring a cave, fell through its floor by accident, and then somehow woke up right here..." the snake creature repeated just to make sure he had all the facts straight. "This all seems too weird to me... something's not right..." he sighed, looking very lost. Rafi came closer to the place where Ethan stood and knelt down. He ran a slender hand through grass and then looked up at the sky.

"I think we... need to ask someone else..." Rafi said then, looking up at Ethan from his kneeling position. "This mystery is a little out of my leauge, I'm afraid..."

He rose to his feet and brushed off his pant legs. "I know we just met, so... this might sound a little strange, but will you come with me Ethan? I know someone we could ask about your situation, but they don't live around here... I'd hate to leave you out here on your own... someone else may try and capture you.."

Ethan nodded his head as Rafi repeated what he had just said. He didn’t understand it either but it happened and he couldn’t explain it any other way. And it seemed like Rafi didn’t understand it either for he had a look of confusion on his face. It made him sigh ever so slightly as he looked around. What could have possibly brought him here? It was a cave. A cave! But then he heard Rafi speak once again.

Ethan turned to look at him again and listened to what he said as he stood up. It was both true that they needed to find someone to help them and that they just met but what else was he supposed to do? Ethan didn’t want to be left alone in a place he didn’t know incase those guys came back or something worse. With a nod he agreed “Yeah. Let’s go” he said trying to give a smile.

A relieved expression came to the snake boy's face as Ethan agreed to go with him. He was glad that the human trusted him, though it was true, he didn't have a lot of options otherwise. Behind him, Rafi's lizard-like tail began to swish and he offered a hand to Ethan. "Come, let's get back to the path so that we can head into town," he said, "The person who I wish to ask about this lives there."

He hoped explained things as detailed as he could would help keep the boy positive and less uncomfortable.

Ethan smiled at the relieved expression that Rafi gave him and he hoped he wasn’t making a mistake by going with this man. So when the hand was extended he took it and started to follow him back onto the path “So…Rafi. What kind of man or woman is this person that you know?” he asked curiously. It was a good question. He didn’t know anything about this place or it’s people so he wanted to know who this person was that they were going to go see.

Hand in hand, Rafi led Ethan back to the main forest past. He released the boy's hand when they arrived and began walking. The naga looked at his new companion when he posed a question about the person they were going to visit. He gave an understanding smile. Of course he would be curious.

"It's an old friend of my Mother's. The woman's name is Ania and she is our village Headmaster. Her home is very large, serving as an inn as well as a clinic. Ania, herself, is very old, seen it all," Rafi explained as they traveled. "If anyone can help us with your problem, it's her. Hopefully she'll know something know something about this... and can tell us what to do."

Ethan pulled his hand back when Rafi let go of his hand when they came upon the forest path from before. His hand felt a bit cold now since it was let go but he didn’t mind it too much as he got a smile from him. Ethan smiled right back at him as Rafi answered his question. He listened to him and gave a few small nods to show that he was listening to him. So this Ania person might be able to help him? He supposed it was the only lead that they had at the moment so he had to trust it.

The blond continued to walk a bit in silence before speaking “I do hope she can help. I can’t help but to wonder if anyone has noticed if I’m gone” he said in a soft voice. He hoped that everyone would be alright and not try to enter the cave. Ethan didn’t want them falling in too and having what happened to him happen to them as well.

A curious and concerned look came to Rafi's face as Ethan spoke of anyone noticing that he was gone. "Were you... alone in the cave when you fell through the floor and ended up here?" the Naga asked softly as they walked side by side. "And... exactly why were you inside the cave, anyway?"

The path in front of them turned into a fork and Rafi headed to the right. The wooden sign in the center of the fork had two arrows, one to the right and one to the left. The right sign read "Lone Oak Village", and the left one said "Lunar Meadow".

Ethan looked over at him when the question was asked "I was alone" he said a bit softly "I've always wondered what was inside the cave in my backyard but I wasn't aloud to go to it. I was afraid of what lay inside but I finally decided to check it out today" he said as they arrived to the signs. Ethan looked at them both before he continued "I guess today was not my lucky day" he said wondering which way they should go "So...which way?"

"I see..." Rafi murmured thoughtfully as they came to the fork. He pointed to the right. "This way. Lone Oak is our destination," he told Ethan before starting off in that direction. "This town is rather well known here... Mostly because of the giant oak tree that sits in the center of the square. It's said to have been there forever..."

The naga looked over at Ethan, trying to ignore the fact that he desired to hold his hand again. He cleared his throat and continued talking. "Ania often tells the village children about when the town was first built... She says that the founders of the city were unable to chop down the massive tree, no matter how hard they tried. It's trunk give, or even show signs of where their axs and saws attempted cut it. So, instead, the founders built their city around the tree, and there it has remained ever since."
