"Another day survived at this wretched excuse of a university, stuck with all these peasants...with nothing to entertain me apart from my lecture notes. What a terrible life it be; expelled from my prestigious private academy in favor of this infantry, only because of my ambition towards my faculty!" Every single day Richard would murmur these words to himself to pass the time during lunch breaks. At no moment he laid the blame to himself, at no moment he tried to engage in conversation with the other students, it was always the same story, the same complaints, and the same excuse.
Richard was an English major at the (public) university of Penem, and a patronizing one at that. He had attained this attitude not by his own unwillingness to cope with social conduct, but rather by his upbringing: his parents are rich, he is their only son, and thus they showered him with praise and wealth, which in turn formed hit attire. One might ask why he had not been granted his wish to actually attend a prestigious private academy, and in the pas he had, but due to his demeanor he spoke too low too openly about the English faculty there, so that he got expelled, for it was this misbehaviour, and nothing else, which sentenced him to this public university.
Although he might seem angry, unwilling, and unkind, sitting here once again alone during lunch break with his books, he is secretly wanting to meet one of his kind. In his wildest and most emotional dreams, he would dream of having a compagnon on his side; someone which was of his class, treated him with the respect he deserved, and would support and obey him in his ways in every step. Right now, he did not have such friend, nor acquaintance, but that was soon to change due to the new student that would be soon transferred to his classes from another university.

Daan sighed as this was already going to be his third transfer to another university, it was like high school, there he also have been transferred around four times. Daan had the luck, or better to say bad luck, to have parents who are often from home, and also needs to move to new countries a lot for their job. This was also the reason why he now was going to the public university of Penem. " Hmpf..for how long will i be here, probably not longer than a year" he muttered to himself as he looked up at the building in front of him. Daan originally came from Australia, where he also was born, from there, he has lived in the United Kingdom, Norway, Los Angelos, Mexico, Canada and now he was in a place called Penem, for gods sake he didn't even knew in which country this place was in.
Suddenly there was a lot of rumor going through the building as the new student, walked in. Everyone was curious about who he was, since all they knew was that he had travelled a lot and has lived in many countries. Maybe he looks like he is rich or famous but, no he wasn't. Daan was lead towards the principal's office, once there he needed to answer a few questions and heard in which class he was in and got his schedule, with the class name on it.
Daan left and noticed that it was still lunch break, so he decided to go where the other students were and noticed that it was rather full in the canteen, until he noticed a table where only one person sat, reading a book as he walked towards him with a friendly smile on his face. " H..Hi, would you mind it, if i join you? My name is Daan, i'm new here." he said as he rubs the back of his head, waiting for the other's permission to sit down. Well on his last university, he was on, it wasn't allowed to just sit down by random people, there was a rule among the students to ask for permission first. Seeing that Daan didn't knew how it goes here, he just decided to keep on following the rule from his previous university. The canteen suddenly got quiet as everyone stared at the two of them and whispers to each other. A lot of students were looking in awe at Daan, after all he was used to that, since he was really good looking and people really loved his Australian accent, only a few words and girls and even some boys were immediately falling for him.

As the young boy was approaching his table, Richard gazed up upon him with a pinch of disgust: "Oh god, there approaches another one of those rascals; one of that low lived scum. I had better ignore him, before I am socially obligated to make acquaintances with him," he thought to himself. He also wanted to ignore Daan for sure, but when he started to introduce himself; staying polite and shy, with a cute voice, his shy friendliness filling surrounding the table with a vow of relaxation, Richard wanted to give him a chance. Almost unnoticeable he murmured: "Alright I'll allow it; sit down before I change my mind."
Moments of silence passed. Richard obviously did not know that he was in the center of attention, as the whole cafeteria looked at them, because he was sucked into his books. I almost became awkward before Richard looked up from his books, saw the young boy again and finally broke the silence by adding to the conversation: "My name is Richard by the way; Richard Wimbolden.
Nice to make acquaintances. I am usually not the type to make friends with one of your kind, one of 'normal' children in this university, but for now: I'll allow; do not disappoint!" After saying this he pushed his hand forward, aiming towards a formal handshake, also hoping for the other to make more conversation, as he was obviously not used to social interaction.

Daan noticed the gaze filled with disgust but, that wasn't making him any different, after all it was in his nature to be polite. The young boy's smile grew bigger as he nods, "Thank you very much, sir. " he said sitting down as he put his school bag next to him on the ground, grabbing a simple sandwich from his bag to eat, before looking up at the other, " Excuse me, would you also like to have one?" he asked friendly, even if he hadn't much, he would still share with others.
In the silence moments, Daan looked around and flashed a couple of smiles towards the other students who were staring at them. Though after the silence kept going, he was looking awkwardly towards Richard and then to the book and then to the ceiling, it was like he was feeling uncomfortable when it was so quiet, which was actually true. When he noticed the other looking at him, he smiles softly, nodding softly, " Well..uh nice to make acquaintances as well, my name is Daan Nicholas Bieber. I'm 18 years and i'm born in Australia. " he introduced himself a bit better than before. Daan blushes softly as he heard that and rubs the back of his head, " eh..hehe t..thanks for making an exception for me, I will make sure not to disappoint you, sir Richard" he said softly as he took the other's hand and gave Richard a formal handshake. " Could i ask you a question?" he asked waiting for the other's approval before he asked his question, " What do you like to do, in your free time? Could you tell me what your hobbies are?" he asked politely to the other.

After the formal introduction Richard went back to the sandwich request Daan made earlier. Impolitely he rejected the offer by saying: "Oh you do not think that I would eat something of such poor quality as that sandwich. I only eat things made by my esteemed cooks at home. You see,
I do not like to mingle in 'normal' food en devours....but I suppose it was a nice offer in the first place so I won't judge you for it." He ended his monologue with a small smile, as if he were to send it off as a joke, although he did mean it all sincerely.
As Daan was born in Australia and was not part of the scum that normally roamed the school floors, he took keen interest in trying to protect him from the 'normal' student. As he saw the people he resented most gazing at Daan as he was young flesh ready to be consumed, he added: "I see that the others are looking at you feisty; I would not try to give it much attention. You can consider me as your guide through this school and as the one that will protect you from the plebeians here." Then, when a new brief pauze fell, he answered the question that was posed to him: "My hobbies? Well, those would include reading books, studying, playing mind games,
and playing on my violin. I would do anything to keep the brain stimulated. As I do not want to come over as impolite, please also tell me your hobbies."

Daan blinked at hearing that before blushing deeply, feeling a bit ashamed as he looked at his sandwich, he knew the other probably didn't mean it like that, but it still made him feel really humiliated. " Oh..y..yeah s..sorry, i s..should have known. I just like to share with others t..that's all" he said softly, almost in a whisper, which happens often when he felt so embarrassed.
Well it wasn't a secret that Daan was naive when it came to that, he didn't knew that people gaze at him like he was young flesh ready to be taken by one of them, no he more thought that people were just staring at him out of interest because that he was a new student. Daan blinked as he heard that and chuckles softly while rubbing the back of his head. " Really? I just thought they are curious.. Oh if you say so. I guess you are right then, thanks for warning me, sir Richard" he said it was something he learned, to call other's who were from a higher class than him to call them sir as title. The younger boy smiled and nods, " Alright, thanks i really appreciate that. I'm happy to be in your hands" he said politely, although in his words it was meaning different than what Richard probably would think. Daan smiles softly as he heard that and nods, " I see, well sounds like you really like to be busy with your brains.. are you good with violin? can i hear you playing some day, please? " he asked curiously at how good the other was. " oh well, i'm not really from the brain stimulating, i like reading books, but also comics and manga's, i do my best with school but i don't need to study often though, even if i don't study i still get good grades. I love playing tennis whenever i can and i love swimming, though i don't like busy places like swimming pools, i rather swim alone or somewhere quiet. um well what's more...i like drawing and enjoy the nature. Daan fell tremendously in Richard's trap; he was just the person for Richard: naive, easy to manipulate, and furthermore humble. Richard could not deny that he liked being called sir. He thought: "This new guy really understands what class I am from. All these students here think that class is simply a label, a meaningless word without any indication of how to treat the person bearing the title. I will keep this boy as close to me as possible!" Then Richard felt something he was not accustomed to. He felt his heart jump a little when Daan said that he was happy to be in Richard's hands. Never had someone said that to him, never has someone expressed only a slight social acceptance from him, never had someone fallen for him. Richard was so pleased with this one sentence that I could not keep his stern posture for a small glimpse in time, not knowing that he probably misinterpreted Daan's words.
At Daan's hobbies Richard laughed a little inside and said: "Well yeah I like to be busy with my brain as mostly I do not meet anyone that fulfills my friendship requirements; I must say you are doing quite well thus-far. As for my violin: I am quite good at playing it if I do say so myself. I have started practicing it at the age of 7 and I have loved playing perfect pieces of music ever since. Of course I would like to invite you to listen once, but can you ensure my that you are ready for the perfect sounds I will produce? As for your hobbies, the sporting hobbies suit someone of your class. They are mostly not engaged in brain activities like me, but it is very surprising to hear that you are doing well in school, as I would have expected someone of your class to be terrible; lucky to even by in a university program to begin with, let alone an English major. Maybe it is because you like books, but why read those filthy comics?"
After Richard had gotten an opportunity to respond, Richard looked on his watch and exclaimed: "Ah, time for class again. Will you join me to our next and final class for today. It is just a lecture, so you can sit with me and maybe we will be able to talk a little during the breaks." Richard tried to force a smile before he started to walk away from the table, hoping that Daan would follow like his new little pet.

Daan noticed the change in Richard's posture as he smiles softly, seeing the other opening a bit up to him, was nice to see. Well it was easy to see that Richard was from a higher class than him, seeing how he was talking and dressed, so it was only normal to call the other 'sir'.
The young boy chuckles softly at hearing that and nods, " I already guessed that, so what for mind games do you play the most? Well i'm very happy to hear that, and i will do everything to fulfill your friendship requirements, sir Richard" he said with a small bow as gesture. " It will be a honor to listen when you are playing, sir, i'm not sure but i still hope that i may have the honor to listen to the perfect sounds that you would make. " he said with a small blush. When hearing what Richard said he nods softly, rubbing the back of his head, " ah well, i guess that's true. Though i'm not terrible when it comes with school, i'm very smart so i don't really have any trouble. In my case it was different, instead of being lucky to get in the English major, i was being invited by the principal himself to follow the English major on their university, so here i am. " Daan flashes a proud grin, " and why i read those filthy comics... well they are funny and i like to watch and read funny things, mostly to relax, sir Richard."
Daan quickly stood up and grabs his bag as he quickly followed Richard, making sure to stay close, " Well of course, i would love to stay by your side, sir. That sounds great, will we be able to do something after our final class, today sir Richard?" he asked hopefully as he surely was following Richard as his new little pet.

Daan's interest was quite remarkable for Richard to comprehend. Normally, no-one really gave Richard much thought. He did think he deserved the attention Daan gave him, but was flabbergasted that he also actually received it. As a response to Daan's questions, Richard replied: "Well, I love to play chess with my butlers, though they all make such awful moves that it poses hardly a challenge for me. To really challenge me, I also play logic puzzles to keep my brain active...apart from practicing my violin of course. I am also happy to see that you are so eager to be my special new friend; I am sure you will do wonderful if you try as hard as you are doing right now, but do not overdo it."
During their final lecture Richard and Daan talked further about the questions they had to each other. Most notably Richard spoke out his resent to the sly comment Daan made earlier about his studies: "I see that you think you are quite clever, being invited to be here, but let me tell you it is no honour as this is a hellhole. Reading those comments is a clear indication that you have yet a lot to learn." Even Richard noticed that this comment was a bit too harsh, even for his standards, so to make it up a little bit Richard decided to add the open invitation that Daan wanted to have from the end of the break onwards: "By the way, I thought about your request, and if you like you are now formally invited to go to my manor with me, and listen to me play the violin, but only because you are so eager." Richard did not like to admit it, but he was waiting in tenstion to Daan's response.

Daan blinked in surprise at hearing that, he felt bad for Richard for not having friends and only able to play with the people who worked for his parents. " Uh.. so um, i hope you don't mind me asking, but don't you have friends to play with? If you like, i would like to play with you, sir Richard" he said kindly to Richard, wanting the other know that he will be his friend. Daan couldn't imagine, how it would be without friends, on the places where he had lived before, he always had many friends, so he was never alone. Daan blushes at hearing that and nods softly, " ah yeah sorry, if i overdid it, sir Richard. But i really love to be your special friend. "
Daan happily sat next to Richard in the final lecture, though when Richard made such a harsh comment, his smile vanished and he looked a bit upset, actually a bit hurt by the comment. He was actually quite clever and it sure had been a honour to be invited to the English Major, seeing that he wouldn't be able to pay the college money, otherwise. Though now he got a scholarship since he was such a great student. Hearing what Richard said really hurt him, since he had been working really hard to get a scholarship. Daan flashes a weak smile towards Richard, " Maybe your right.. sir" he muttered out, some tears appearing in his eyes as he quickly looked away and rubs them away, he was holding himself strong at the moment. Daan was a bit quiet by now and it took a bit before he answered on what Richard said next, he knew it was to make it up, he could easily see through that. Daan however wasn't someone who hold a grudge against someone, so he gave a soft nod and smiles softly, " That would be great, thanks. I look forward to come over to your manor. I would love to hang out with you, i will be up for whatever you like to do, sir Richard" he said now getting happier again and cheerfuller than earlier. " Can I come over today, after this lecture? "
