Conrad had indeed fell asleep. He was quick at falling asleep, and was quite a heavy sleeper, unless he smelled food.

Soon, Conrad woke up and stretched from his catnap. He blinks the sleep from his eyes and looks around, frowning because Jules wasn't next to him. When he spots him, however, he smiles again. The other kids were coming in, finished with their chores. Some asked why Conrad wasn't cleaning today, and he just pointed at his book and continued reading.
