I Thought You Wanted to Be A Vampire... (for MsJacobL, zajawa & BlissfulEternity)

Quin walked inside and hurried about the house, turning off every single light and taking out flashlights and candles, lighting them as he closed the blinds to make it seem there was no one inside, or that they had been sleeping. Heading to the kitchen, Quin lit a last candle in there near Casey and sighed as he looked at his friend, grabbing his own glass of water as he reached out and fixed a few strands of the males violet hair. "You alright Shino?" Quin asked, his voice soft. The silence making him feel a bit…concerned, wanting to ensure his friend was alright.

Even if he knew his friend was safe physically, he wanted to know emotionally he was as well. As he tucked hair behind Casey's ear, drawing his hand back and letting out a deep breath, slightly unsure how to react to all of this, and glancing at the door once in a while, hoping Jonas would return soon.

Shino flinched when Quin touched his hair. He was just so deep in his thoughts that he didn't hear the other male getting inside the kitchen. Even him pouring himself some water.. The boy flinched when his ear was touched. He never said that to anyone, even his best friend, but it was kind of vulnerable point of his. Really sensitive. Embarrassment from his reaction and that fear deep inside his guts made him snap a bit.
"Yes! I am! We can both die.. our families can be hurt! And you're still interested with.. that monster!", he yelled, glaring at other male. "I can see that in you so don't even try to deny it!"

Jonas arrived at the house within a few minutes. It seemed the night's events had exhausted him a lot more than he anticipated. He figured most of the exhaustion came from the blood lust. Usually after drinking blood, a vampire would have to burn the extra adrenaline out, usually by hunting some more, but more frequently through sex. Without any of those outlets, Jonas' body seemed to crash like one would after having too much sugar. Walking up the driveway, he couldn't help but notice that all of the lights were off. Were Quin and Casey sleeping? Maybe they were finally fucking. Both of those thoughts were quickly canned once he heard both of their voices. He heard Quin ask Casey a question, and then what he heard next made him feel extremely guilty.

Casey wasn't wrong in what he said about Jonas. He was a monster. He was fully aware of that. But what was he supposed to do? Just give himself up and die? Let down his entire race? The vampire let out a sigh. He didn't want to be mad at Casey. After all, he did just stick out his neck for him by helping him stake out his house. At the same time, he just wished there was some way he could prove to him that he had the power to keep both of them safe, and their families. His thoughts then moved to Quin. The redhead was one of the more kinder, if not the kindest individual he had ever met. He had sacrificed so much just to help him keep his secret. The last thing he wanted was for Quin to lose a friendship over him as well.

Instead of entering the house, Jonas stayed outside and stood close to the door. It didn't seem right to walk in right now. The two friends clearly had something they had to discuss, and his presence wouldn't make anything any better. He had already caused enough trouble, he did not want to cause any more. So he waited outside the door, waiting to see if the two friends would resolve their issues, or if he would have to step in to help the two friends out.

Quin frowned at the reaction of Casey when he touched him, and even more so when his friend got upset, knowing it wasn't because he was upset with him, but because he was scared. Drawing his hand back completely and placing it onto the counter, Quin looked at Casey, trying to 'read' his emotions. Taking a deep breath, the redhead pushed back against the countertop and looked at his best friend strongly.
"Neither of us chose this Shino. I didn't go out and look for a vampire, he came to us, and what do you want me to do? Kick him out?" Quin asked as his brows furrowed. "I care about you. I care about our families, and I'll do my best to protect all of you, but Jonas has nothing right now. I can't just kick him out of my house." Quin rubbed his head and sighed deeply, feeling constricted with his own decisions.

"I'm sorry, but I just can't imagine kicking Jonas out when it could mean he could die in the process. And even if I did, we're already in deep shit. And if he's gone, we have no one strong enough to protect us all." Quin said, his voice slowly lowering with each word he spoke, beginning to almost give up with the argument. He always hated bickering with Casey, especially since he cared so much for the man, it was bothersome to see him upset.

Casey's anger slowly passed away when he heard Quin. He was of course right. He couldn't kick Jonas out of his house. Especially not if it meant they would put themselfs even in more danger.
"I know... I'm sorry", said Shino softly, tugging on his friends shirt and looked at him apologitecally. "I'm just.. scared. I don't want to see you hurt. Nor my family.. or yours. I just.. am angry at Jonas that he put that many people in danger. Sorry.."
The last word he muttered while looking on the floor, his eyebrows furrowed in worry a bit.
"I know it's not his fault he's a vampire but still he would.. or more like pulled already.. into danger. And you are fascinated by him. I worry I'll loose you and I don't want that...", confessed Casey barely audibly, still not looking at his friend.

Jonas continued to press up against the door, listening closely to what his friends were saying. There was no reason for him to press his ear against the door, he did have an extremely improved sense of hearing, but he had seen it so many times on TV that it seemed to be the natural thing to do. It made him happy to hear Quin defend him like that. The redhead sure was something. Casey was lucky to have someone as hunky and kind as Quin love him. It was such a tender moment, it was a shame his blood lust and lack of sex was plaguing his mind with dirty thoughts. All he could think about was thanking Quin for his kindness by giving that sizable manhood of his a few good licks. His thoughts quickly disappeared when he heard the two apologize. It would be wrong of him to ruin such a tender moment with such inappropriate thoughts.

Jonas finally decided it was time to enter. He climbed up onto the roof and found one of the bathroom windows open. He climbed through the window and walked downstairs to see the two teens close to each other. "Hey." Jonas said, alerting the two boys that he had arrived back safely. "I have a lot of stuff to tell you guys, but first," Jonas looked over at Casey. "Can I talk to Casey in private please? There's some things I want to ask him." He looked over at Quin, to let the redhead know that he wasn't going to try anything devious. He really just wanted to talk to Casey to tell him and convince him that he was worthy of their trust, and that he would keep true to their promise and make sure nobody got hurt.

Noticing that Casey's anger was deteriorating, Quin then began to feel his heart ache for his friend, seeing the worry, hearing it in his voice, and knowing all too well how difficult it must be for him, since he himself was worried for his friend as well.
Feeling the tug on his shirt, and the way Shino looked up at him, saying those words and then looking down made Quin's hands clench at his sides, wanting to just hold his friend tightly, to show him just how much he cared for him. What Casey said next made the man stare, Quin's eyes looking down at Shino, his lips parting as he was about to speak but stopped when he heard Jonas. Although, even hearing the vampire walk in, Quin hadn't taken his eyes off of Casey, not until he heard him ask to speak to his friend alone that Quin looked over at Jonas, his gaze skeptical, and in fact after that confession he wasn't too fond of leaving his friend.

Taking a single step back, Quin nodded his head, looking at Casey and whispering. "I'll be in my room if you need me." He muttered, glancing at Jonas one last time before heading upstairs and towards his room, his mind swarming with what Casey had said to him.

Casey actually flinched when all of the sudden he heard the vampire. Feeling ashamed of the state he was in he blushed and went to the fridge, trying to focus on making something nice to eat for now.. or later on when they would be hungry enough to eat. Though he tensed up when he heard Jonas asking to be left alone with him. What was that this time? He only nodded to what Quin said and then turned around, looking at the vampire questioningly.
"What?", he asked, a bit surprised with the anger he heard in his own voice.
Though he knew why. After all Jonas got him in one of his vunerable states. It was okay for Quin to see that, more or less, but not some stranger. It simply poked his pride too much.

Jonas nodded when he heard Quin's response. His eyes watched the redhead leave the room and he listened closely until he knew it was safe to talk to Casey in private. The vampire turned his head to face Casey, and just as he was about to talk, he heard the tinge of anger in spectacled teen's voice. "Look Casey, I'm sorry for all of this. I really am." Jonas said, trying to be as sincere as possible. "But the bottom line is that this is the reality of our situation now. Even if you wanted to leave, you can't anymore. I extremely sorry for dragging you into this, but I did vow to protect you, and I will die before I break my word." He took a pause and stared into Casey's eyes to emphasize his next sentence. "I take my promises very seriously Casey. I never break them." The green-eyed teen moved the bangs from his eyes and swiped them to the side.

"Because of the situation we're in Casey, all I ask of you is one thing. I just need you to trust me." Jonas said with all seriousness. "If we're going to get to the bottom of this, I need you to know that I trust you with my life. I've told you my secret, and I'm trusting that you and Quin won't tell anyone. I need you to do the same. I need you to trust me with your life." He pulled away from the lavender-haired teen, knowing that this was a lot to take in. He went to grab his hand, but knew it was probably to early to be establishing any sort of friendly contact with Casey. "I know that's asking a lot. I don't expect you to trust me the way you trust Quin. After all, you guys have known each other for forever apparently. But, I do think I have a way to build the trust between us quicker."

It was time to drop the bomb on Casey. Jonas wasn't quite sure how he would take it, but if he didn't try, he would never know if it would work or not. "Have you ever heard of the Secret Band of Thebes?" The vampire continued, not waiting to see if Casey did actually know the answer to his question. He was going to provide it anyways. "They were a military group in Ancient Greece. 300 people in total. You see, they were very difficult to best in combat. Do you wanna know why?" Once again, Jonas' question was more rhetorical. "It wasn't because of their skill or prowess. You see, the 300 soldiers were split into pairs. 150 of them obviously. Each pair of soldiers became more than brothers-at-arms. They became lovers. So when the Secret Band of Thebes went into battle, they weren't just battling to win the war, they were battling to protect the person they love."

Before Casey had a chance to interject, Jonas hurried to put in his last two cents. "I'm not saying we have to become lovers Casey, but perhaps if we did...perhaps...did engage in some sort of sexual activity, then this issue of trust would disappear. I know you wouldn't want to have sex, and I wouldn't expect you to. I was thinking more along the lines of kissing or perhaps a handjob. If you're up for it, I'm willing to give it a shot." Jonas finally concluded as he placed a hand on Casey's thigh, rubbing it softly, hoping it would coax him into engaging in a bit of fun.

Quin sat down onto his bed, looking at the wall nearby and grimacing. Why the hell did he want to talk to Casey alone? The redhead had nothing wrong with Jonas, but when it came to his best friend, it wasn't something he liked to do. Leave him with other men. Jealousy slightly struck him, and Quin's fingers gripped the sheets, grinding his teeth together and then taking a step out of bed so he could walk over to grab his Nintendo DS, deciding to distract his thoughts.

With his shirt removed, Quin stayed in his orange boxers, laying in his bed as his eyes stayed on the screen in an attempt to stop from thinking of Casey and Jonas. With a deep sigh, and a few minutes later, he dropped the DS onto his bed and couldn't stop from being way too curious for his own good.
Staying in his room, Quin knew that if the two were down there for a long time, he'd interrupt the conversation within seconds.
