Alan held his hands up in surrender. "I'm sorry." he said sincerely, "I didn't mean to upset you. I didn't know that would do that." He moved his hand to where the sharp little elbow had slammed into his ribs. "I won't do it again, please, come back and let's get you taken care of then I'll leave you alone. If that's what you want."
He felt like such an idiot for pissing the calf off like that. And with this little misstep alone he could feel his future slipping away. And he didn't want that. He wanted to impress Cal, to earn his trust. He wanted this beautiful place to become his home.

Cal calmed down hearing Alan say sorry and the hands going up in surrender. He wasn't sure if he should believe it or not but he was a little calmer than before at the moment, which was a good sign after all. Still his heart was pounding against his chest both in frustration, shock, and confusion on what to do now. He didn't want to give in and go back over to Alan. Why should he listen to this green horn? On the hoer hand though, he didn't want to die and he had a rather bad feeling that if he at least didn't get emptied out today he'd be dying a lot sooner than he would have liked.
"Touch me in any place I haven't told you to again and I'll call for Don." he warned before going back over to Alan and settling in his lap once again. This was going to be a nightmare, having to deal with this guy every day but at the moment he didn't have a choice.

Alan apologized again before letting Cal settle back into his lap and returning to the task at hand. This time, he reminded himself, keep your hands on the right spots. The belly massage continued, and the gentle stroking.
He was well aware that he had probably just let this chance slip out the window, just by that boneheaded move. How could he have been so stupid? Once he was done here he figured he might as well go pack his things and leave.

Cal wasn't quite a cuddly this time, his mind was always half on what the man was going to do without his permission now. Luckily for him though it seemed like Alan had learned his lesson now, so maybe the boy wouldn't be so bad. As he got to the point of being close to emptying out his body started to relax more and more until the point where at the end he was snuggled against the others neck once again and calm.
"Thanks, that feels a lot better now." he whispered and turned in the others lap enough to snuggle against him slightly.

Alan felt and saw him finish, and pulled his hands away like he'd been told to do. What surprised him was the fact that Cal curled up against him. He smiled softly and carefully gathered the calf up in his arms, taking him over to the bed so they could both be more comfortable.
He held him gently, petting his black and white hair. "I'm glad you feel better." he whispered soothingly. "And I really am sorry that I upset you." He nuzzled Cal's hair and rocked him gently, thinking maybe after all that the calf might need a nap.

Cal would be lying if he were to say that he didn't enjoy being held and cuddled up like this. In fact it was honestly just another one of those things that farmer Don never did for him. One that he'd say maybe he didn't know he wanted it until now. As they settled into the hay pile he let out a small and content moo as he nuzzled against Alan once again. The male was even petting him, something farm animals never really expected to get but it was certainly welcome.
"It's ok." he whispered. "I know I've been short tempered all week. The more pain I was feeling the more I lashed out at even the small things. Don's been far more patient that even I think he should have been." he whispered then yawned a bit. It was well over due as far as his mental time schedule for his morning nap. "But you should be taking the milk to the storage container. I think it's in the large shed next door but you might have to ask Don. I usually just stay here and even when I do go out to the fields I don't really pay attention to where things are. I'm just happy to stretch my legs and run around all day."

Alan nodded. Cal had a good point. "Alright. I'll go put it where it goes." he said carefully moving away from the calf to let him continue his dozing. "I'll be back when I'm done. That is... if you'd like me to." He stroked Cal's hair one last time before getting up and moving toward the bucket.
He didn't know what Cal's answer would be, or if he'd even answer at all. But he needed to get the milk to the store house before is spoiled. He carried the bucket out and quickly found Don. "Hey where do you want this?" he asked.

Cal settled down into his hay pile and smiled. He was rather happy right now and he was completely relaxed once again. For once in what felt like a long time he didn't have any pain at all and he could get a decent sleep for once again. Hearing Alan's words he looked up and nodded slightly. He would honestly love for the other male to return, after all he hadn't gotten cuddles before and it was certainly something that he could get used to getting everyday. Once he had gotten in his mind on getting something everyday he'd come to just expect it and this cuddling thing wasn't something he wanted to give up since it was nice, and rather comforting other than just laying alone.
"I'd love that." he whispered then nuzzled in against the hay and curled up a little bit more.
Outside Don looked over when he heard the other come over and ask him where to put the milk he'd gotten from Cal. He was working on getting a tractor up and running once again so he came out from under the machine and smiled at Alan. Mostly he was glad that Cal had let this stranger touch him and also glad he wouldn't have to kill the calf either. He had raised Cal since the day the boy was born, it'd be a shame to have to let the boy go after all these years.
"Good to see things went well." he said and motioned for Alan to follow him. "There's a shed by the barn, the cooling container is inside of it. It's a small one since I only have Cal but i made the shed in hopes of expanding eventually." he explained as he opened the door and walked over to the container. "Just use the step stool to get up the top and open the lid then pour it inside." He said. "The container will keep it cool until pickup, check the temperature to make sure everything's ok and if it's not cold enough just come get me and I'll see what's wrong."

Alan nodded and went over, letting himself inside the shed and pouring the milk into the cooling container. It looked to be at a proper temperature, so he paid no mind to bothering Don again for now. Instead, he smiled remembering what Cal had said in that adorable sleepy voice, that he wanted him to come back.
He slipped quietly back into the pen and settled down beside Cal, taking him carefully back into his arms, intent on not rousing him. The hay was actually pretty comfortable. Moreso than he'd expected, but as he rested his chin between the cute little horns protruding from Cal's hair he found himself wondering, if he could just stay out here with the calf...

Cal was half asleep by the time that Alan had come back over to him. He barely seemed to feel the other come over and moved him over into a hug once again. He nuzzled in against the other's chest when he felt the weight on his head but he didn't move more than that or say anything at all for a long time. At least not until he was fully rested once again. By then it was close to lunch time and he yawned before moving in against the other a little more not even realizing that Alan was there at first. Feeling his body hit and move against the other he blushed a bit remembering what was going on.
"Alan." he whispered and moved in against the other's chest once again, this time on purpose. It was so warm having someone there, he didn't even need a blanket for his nap, something he was happy about. "I'm hungry." he commented. "Can I request a big fruit salad for lunch?" he asked.
