Evander washed quickly, deliberately not thinking about what he just did. It was embarrassing and out of character for him to do something so risky. What if another student passed by and heard him? His life here would be over before it even began. Still, what's done is done and can't be undone.
Dressed, he headed out, pondering on what to do next. It was at least an hour before he had to meet with Cross... If he remembered correctly, he was supposed to have Art around this time, and it couldn't harm him if he just took a peek.
Sighing, he made his way over to the Art room and opened the door, only to encounter the blond he fantasized about just moments ago. Well, shit.
(This is terrible, but I don't really want to re-write it. So, with BTF gone, what're we doing? Plot-wise, at least.)

(I have absolutely no idea. If Cross doesn't come back then I guess we'd be PMing each other over ideas?)
With Brendon and Talor in pose, Hein had gone back to drawing, the scratching of charcoal against the paper on board being the only sound resonating through the room.
Hein's ears picked up the sound of the door opening. He looked past Brendon and Taylor to see... the new boy. It was unmistakably him, the one that Hein had been "spying" on earlier before Brendon intruded so rudely to take his attention away. Hein's hand was held in midair: he realised this before placing the charcoal stick back down on the table. His drawing was done but he had just been picky
about the shading. Now that he thought about it, the more he did the less beautiful it became.
He could distinctly see the violet eyes, brown hair and lithe build that had first caught in his attention. Not many people had violet eyes, let alone such an intense gaze... why was he even here?

Evander bowed, "I apologize for interrupting. I'm transferring into this class and I let my curiosity get the best of me. My name is Evander, I hope we will get along well."
The teacher greeted him and told him to make himself comfortable.
"Hein can tell you what we have been doing so far," he said, motioning to the blond.
Hein... that was his name. Seeing him up close though, it only made Evander realize just how large the other boy was. Hein could completely envelop Evander if he tried. The thought was strangely comforting.

"Hein can tell you what we have been doing so far."
Hein blinked. Once. Twice. Thrice. He realised that he'd been given the opportunity to talk to this newcomer. But talking would just seem so awkward. He'd almost grabbed another easel but he realised that they were on the last pose and he was done. He simply gestured for Evander to come to where he'd been seated.
Evander. So that was his name. So polite, so full of mannerism. He looked the part too, hair slick and coiffed just right. Hein guessed that his breath probably smelled of strawberries, but that went a bit too far. Maybe a handful of graphite powder and a few splotches of acrylic would grunge the boy up, but Hein didn't want to risk it.
He'd quickly fixed his drawing of Taylor and Brendon, stowing it away and sticking a long arm out in front of him, charcoal held delicately between those huge fingers. "For you," he said. Two words, no more.
Somehow, Evander looked so... impersonal, as if he just wished his mouth was glued shut. Hein could only hope his mannerisms extended beyond greetings and included not being a spoilt brat.

Evander took the charcoal and found an empty canvas. He bit his lip as he stared at it. There were models around the room, but none of them appealed to him. He turned a hesitant eye towards Hein. He wasn’t sure if he would appreciate being drawn, but the urge was too strong.
“Please do not look at my drawing until I am finished Hein,” Evander pleaded of him before beginning his work.
Almost 30 minutes later, he finished and stared at his creation. Hein stared back at him, body stretched out, expression relaxed and open. Evander smiled, it was indeed one of his best works.
“I apologize for drawing you without your permission but I could not resist. I will destroy it if you ask me to.”
It would pain Evander to do so, but it was Hein’s right.
(Sorry for not posting sooner, my internet has been wonky.)

(Ta's okay. Anyway is it right for me to assume you've never been to a studio drawing class? It's usually just one model/set of models in the middle with all the artists surrounding them, so everyone gets a different perspective. It isn't really as with your description of models being around the room just so you know.)
“Please do not look at my drawing until I am finished Hein,”
He was puzzled at that statement, but made no effort to look up at the blank paper. He would leave Evander at that while he stared at the ground, mind blank. He didn't want to think about Taylor and Brendon who were there, together, posing. They might as well have announced to the whole school that they were together with each other.
“I apologize for drawing you without your permission but I could not resist. I will destroy it if you ask me to.”
"Wha...?" Hein now knew why he didn't want him to look. But this was a life-drawing class! The only models which Evander should have been drawing were Taylor and Brendon, in the middle. That's a first. He lifted his head to come face-to-face with his likeness in charcoal. To say the least he was stunned by the life-like depiction, looking like as though it was going to start moving, come out of the picture plane...
He shifted his gaze to Evander, lowering it so that it looked almost like a glare. "Why did you draw me?"

(You would be correct. IRL I have little to no artistic talent, so there has been no reason for me to attend a studio drawing class.)
"Because you appeal to me." Evander looked at the clock. Class was almost over. "If you would like me to destroy it, tell me now. I have to leave. Or should I take your glare as an answer? I do not wish to be presumptuous."
Clearly he had offended the other, though why, he did not know. Perhaps, in the end, it would be better to destroy it.

(SORRY FOR having effectively having killed this thread. I took quite a long hiatus because of school. Heh. Ironic.)
Appeal? Hein had never heard anyone be so straightforward in their assessment of him. Perhaps he would have first heard the idea of one who was cold, indifferent. But not appealing. Looking at Avander now, he seemed intent on destroying the drawing.
"No, don't. It'll be a waste," he concluded, holding his palms up in surrender. "Do what you want with it other than destroy it: every drawing is a piece of history of your amazing talent."

(I'm just glad you're back. Speaking of which, mentaikodaisuki should acknowledge that he is still here, or I'll just continue the story w/o Cross)
Evander couldn't help the smile that flitted across his face.
"You are too gracious. Thank you for allowing me to keep this, it will never be shown to anyone else."
He hesitated here, as if unsure he should continue speaking.
"To make up for my presumptuous attitude, I would like to treat you to dinner sometime. That is, if it is amenable to you..."
He frowned and looked up at Hein.
"That is what people do when they want to apologize, right? To... make friends? I'm not particularly good at that sort of stuff."

(Haha, am I glad to be back too )
"That is what people do when they want to apologize, right? To... make friends? I'm not particularly good at that sort of stuff."
Wha... friends? Hein didn't know anything about making friends, at least consciously doing so. The friends he had always seemed to just come to him, which kind of explained why he had less than the number of fingers on a hand. Sure, he was anti-social, but Hein knew his manners. Treating him to dinner over a drawing was... absurd.
Unless... unless he was implying something else?
Hein raised his hands. "Woah, take it easy," he said, trying to be calm when his heart was in a panic. He didn't want to upset the newcomer, but he didn't want to give him ideas, at least not yet. "It's cool. Going to dinner, that is. But I don't think you were presumptuous at all. The treat isn't necessary at all, really."
Out of the corner of his eye he spotted the clock. Studio class was going to be over, and lunch break was about to start. "How about lunch? Since you'd like to try and be "friends", why not try it over a meal? Not that I don't know anything about making friends..." that last line was muttered incomprehensibly, but he wasn't sure whether Evander had heard, choosing to look straight into the other boy's eyes in a gesture of respect.
