Evander knew he was being eager, more eager than he should be, but, for some inexplicable reason, he craved Hein's approval. It's been a long time since he had had a real friend, not since... No, he wouldn't ruin this with bitter memories. That was in the past now, a past he wanted to leave far, far behind.
"I would really like that. Is there anyplace you have in mind? I haven't been out of the hospital that long so..."
Whoops, he hadn't meant to let that last part out. Hein might want to know why and he wasn't ready to give an answer. Evander sighed.
"I always say more than I mean to around you. I don't know why, but I don't think it's a bad."
He shook his head, dispelling that line of thought.
"As I was saying, I don't area very well. You'll have to pick were we eat."
(How is it that the two people with the most angst filled characters are the ones who end up staying? Seriously, it's kind of funny.)
