My name is L. You should know me as the great detective. The giver of justice, the keeper of peace, the hope for the innocent. But I have a secret. I am very hopelessly in love with my number one suspect, Light Yagami. I am sure he's Kira, so I really shouldn't feel this way. But....

I know, deep down, he still has a heart. The way I see it, Light is Kira's biggest victim. And I want to save him. I want to save him, I want to love him.... I just want him to be mine. He is mine, he just doesn't know it yet. But those longing looks he give me can only mean one thing. I've never been wrong before and I'm not wrong now.

I will win his heart.
I will save his soul.
I will bring him salvation.

"L, I don't see why we have to stay handcuffed together." Light complained in annoyance, as he fixed his hair in the mirror.
"I told you, we must stay together until you either admit to being Kira, or we catch he real Kira." L said, putting his thumb to his mouth. "And are you not done yet? You have been doing your hair for twenty-seven minutes now."

Light shrugged. "I just want it to look nice, alright?"

"It always looks nice, Light-Kun. It actually looks nicer if you leave it be the way it naturally is instead of prepping it up...." He said with a sly smile. Seeing how red Light went it turned into a smirk. I knew it.... He does return my feelings. [Silly Light-Kun, he's already gorgeous, he doesn't need all this prep tie in the mirror.] L thought.

"But your obsession with perfection worries me. I am considering having you tested for OCD. The chances of you having it are now 73%." L said with a concerned frown.

"Oh, shut up! I'm done anyway! And at least I don't look like a panda...." He muttered. They went downstairs to begin working on the case. No one else would be there. L had everyone seperated, so he could investigate Light uninteruppted. (Or that was his excuse.)

"Hey L, why do you eat sweets all the time?" Light asked curiously as L, same as every morning, went straight for the sweet cart.

L walked hunched over, thump to his lips as he nosed around the cart of sweets, his gaze moving over each object that awaited him, wanting to be eaten by his sweet loving mouth. "Because Sweets are good, and I like them" he answered in a blank tone before picking up a kabob of Sweets, he walked over to a chair and began to eat the sugary sweets off of it.

"Is it that much of a problem if I like sweets?" he asked the other.

Light seemed unsure as to how he should answer this. He didn't understand Why it was L loved his sweets, then again, L wasn't sure himself. He just ate them because they tasted good. "It be better if you'd eat healthy and sat right" light muttered slightly, glancing at How L sat with his feet in the seat, curled over himself. "I don't know what you'r talking about." L said in a blank tone as he lifted up a piece of paper.

He held it as if it were infected with something, his pointer finger of each hand and thumbs pressing the edges of the top of the paper. "Interesting...Light, how do you suppose he's able to kill people with out being anywhere around them?" he asked with a small smile.

He would find out if this really was Kira...though he was 95% sure of it. Though, That last 5% could find this all a bit problematic. He needed to be more sure before he started to pure this corrupted sweetheart of his. He was sure Light really meant good by this, he was just...trapped in the darkness of it was all. L would break him free. For sure.

"Come on, don't be shy now, share what you think" he said looking over at him with a small smirk.

Light tilted his head, carefully considering his answer. "A few theories have crossed my mind. But their all very.... unrealistic. For lack of any other explanation, I considered things like magic, witchcraft, something along those lines. But those are stupid, impossible.... Pure fiction." Light said, looking over some names. "Though in my defense, I would think more clearly if I actually had a full night of sleep. But being chained to an insomniac, that can be difficult to come by." He glanced at L's sweet kabob and shuddered. How can he eat that? Okay, perhaps he was a bit biased, having never touched a sweet in his life. Still, that had to be the most childish and unhealthy thing he'd ever seen.

L placed the paper down as he bit onto his lower lip, Looking at the TV screen. "well. As of yet, we haven't had much news on Kira...just a few deaths here or there, but we can't figure out what really is a heart attack and whats not." he said shaking his head. "Its very problematic." he said as he took another sweet from the kabob and ate it. "Hmn...you want anything Light?" he asked ignoring the comment on being a insomniac. He didn't really care if he didn't sleep that well, besides, the chain would force them to sleep in the same bed, and L was afraid he'd do something to the cutie while he slept. "Maybe there is a magical why..I mean nothing about this is at all normal.." he said glancing over at Light. "how do you suppose this magic is used though?" he asked.

"L, I would sooner stab a fork into my ear and twist it into my brain than ever, ever eat a sweet. Especially one of your sweets. No offense." He sipped his coffee. Bitter, black.... L would probably choke on this stuff. Hm, there was a thought. Deaht by coffee.... And would serve him right for the time L had tried to sneak sugar in his coffee. Trying to make him fat, that bastard.

At the second question, he glanced at L. "How should I know? Perhaps Kira has a magic wand. Oh no, he uses virgin sacrifices. Hm, I like the theory of the demonic goat that eats souls. Seriously L, guessing at what kind of 'magic' he has will get us nowhere." He said, rolling his eyes. Ryuk, you better have hidden the notebook DAMN well. He thought.

L gave another smirk as he popped another sweet into his mouth. "To bad, I'm sure you'd taste rather sweet." he said in a small tone. He hadn't meant to speak it out loud, so when he heard his own words he glanced away. "Well anyways, That coffee is whats dreadful, So bitter and no taste. Its just gross...Tea with sugar is much better..." he said with a nod. Though his tea normally had more sugar then anything else.

"A magic wand hmn? Virgin sacrifices...Well, that can't be it, there isn't such nonsense of dead virgins coming up, so loose that thought. As for the goats...I'm not sure one would believe a heart attack could come from their soul being eaten...I like the idea of a shinigami " he said glancing at the other. "I hear they just lo--ve apples." he teased glancing over at a tray of ripe apples.

He tensed at that. Alright, that was bad. It normally wouldn't be so very bad, except his mind was still whirling from the comment suggesting he would taste sweet. So he couldn't verbally manuver his way out of the Shinigami and apple jibe as smoothly as he usual did. "Yes - Well, you know... An apple a day." He laughed nervously. "But be serious, Shinigami aren't real. Their a myth, and you know that. So surely, you're not suggesting Kira is a Shinigami?" He grabbed an apple from the tray and pointed it at him. "Thats a 60% chance you are insane, and a 100% chance that you need some sleep to, though an insomniac you may claim to be." He took a bite out of it and went back to that names. "Now get back to work instead of sprouting such ridiculous nonsense." He said, back in his evasive verbal groove. "As lovely as your company may be, the sooner I'm no longer chained to you, the better."

L grinned as he watched Light's reaction. It was rather cute how he seemed to become so flustered. Either from his outburst of his thoughts, or the comment on Shinigami. "Not that he's one, just that one is...helping him" he said with a smile as he turned back to the work load. "In fact, its a proven theory that most insane people aren't really insane, just to smart for there own good." he said. "and sleep has nothing to do with it." he muttered on a second note. HIs sleeping wasn't an issue, he slept just fine...when Light passed out first...

"Oh, I see. So the soul eating demonic goat is silly, but the fact Kira has a pet Shinigami is totally believeable. I see how that is." He said, trying to sound more annoyed than worried. L was treading far too close to the truth right now, closer than ever. He glanced at L's sweets again and changed the subject to something safe, something he could rant on and on about until L just didn't want to talk anymore. "You know you're going to get diabetes, right? Or worse, fat."

L blinked a few times at the topic change, not bothering to go on about the shinigami. He had his doubts of a few things..."Oh? I'll get fat from these....hmn, It doesn't matter I figure, I have a really good digestion, i'd be fat now if that was the case, as for diabetes...that's a problem I'll deal with when the time comes.." he said shrugging before going back to his work. Talking was over with for the moment. His sweets was his own business.
