Through are the centuries. Man had told many tales of men at sea being drawn by lovely maidens to sharp rocks. Sending many lives to the bottom of the sea. Now most people believe that they are nothing but make believe creatures that parents tell to their children to put them to sleep at night. But what would you do if you find out that they are real? That they live in our oceans? Well they do. Mermaids and mermen are in fact real.

Now you may be wondering. If they were real, then where are they. Well off the coast of a very popular beach town, located in the south. Well known for it's surfers, fishing spots, shaved ice and seafood restaurants. Under the salty water, through a cave that was more like a maze. There is an underwater city. Where the merpeople live. They live just like humans. Only they breath water instead of air.

In the water city live a young lad. Now he was the prince of the city or anything fancy like that. He was your normal merboy. Who was a very curious fellow. Now nobody really leaves the caves because they fear of being caught by the humans and would never come back. That didn't frighten him at all. He actually wanted to know more about humans. Since he was part human. They can't be that bad right?

So he packed up a sack that he once found while wondering outside the caves once and was off. No one seemed to mind him leaving. For he was an urchin. He grew up pretty much by himself. It was very lonely. But he doesn't let that bother him or at least make it look like that. It took him about two hours where he arrived to the surface world. He got close to the beach and hid behind some rocks. Watching the humans from a distance.

A boy was the only on on the beach for he had run away form home and now was living in a cave a few miles from where he was." I hop eI don;t die alone" he said to himself knowing that going home was not what he wanted to do since he hated his paretns so much for telling him what to do.

" huh?" the boy said as he thought he saw soemthing behind a rock" hello? is that a seal behind there?" he asked as he walked into the shallow end of the water.

He carefully watched the boy. For he found him rather interesting. He had never seen anyone alone on the beach before. They were always with another human or with a strange furry animal that walked on four legs (another words a dog). He tucked some of his seaweed green hair behind his short pointy ear and moved just a little closer. When he heard the human speak. He tensed up, thinking that he was spotted. So he hid further behind the rock and lowered his head. Hoping the human would give up, but doesn't leave.

The boy sighed as he stood there in the shallow water only to shiver as a gust of wind blew past him." I should get going..." he said to himself as he headed back to shore and headed for his cave like home.He then sneezed " I need warmer cloths...but how do I get them?' eh asked himself as he shivered.

He heard him wanting warmer clothes. He tries to remember what clothes were. Since he doesn't wear any. It was something he often forgot. So he took out a strange looking notebook. Where he kept his notes about the human world and looks it up. After reading it. He wanted to do something for him. So about an hour after the human entered the cave. Something was thrown at him. Landing right at his feet. They were in fact warmer clothes. Now how did the merboy get them. Well he found them in a bag that was sitting on the other side of the beach. Without leaving the water. He throws then into the cave. Then back off to the rocks again. When the human check to see who was out there. He could see him in the water. Trying to hide.

" huh? hello? is there some one following me?" the boy asked as he looked at the bag of cloths." okay this is strange..." he said to himself as he opend the bag only to find a blanket and a few shirts and pants" thanks..." he said to who ever had given these things to him" now to get soem food" he said as he brought out a hand made fishing pole." lets hope I don;t have to wiat too long" he said to himself with a warm smile as he sat on a rock and cast the line out into the water.

For some reason. The merboy was happy to hear that he was grateful got the items that he had given him. Seeing him coming out again. He dives under the water. He was starting to like this human lad. There something about him that he wanted to know more about him.As he waits under the water. He sees something strange and shiny plop into the water. Not knowing that it was a fishing hook. So curiosity took over and swam up to it. Tilting his head to the side pokes at it. But he touched the sharp part and pricked himself. So he tries the swim away.

However his long hair got caught and tangled in the hook. So he tries to swim more, but was tugging on the line. Making it seem like the human had catch a fish.

the pole snapped making the boy sad" aww...now what am I suppose to do for food?" he asked himself as he sat there still holding the broken pole in his hand " the seat water was too salty for him to drink and there was almost nothing around for him to eat.

He could hear him talk about the having anything to eat and made him feel guilty. For he didn't mean to do any harm. So he grabbed a very good size fish. That you can eat. He throws it at the human. Then he wanted to take a closer look. He doesn't want to hide anymore. So after throwing the fish. He poked his head out of the water and looks at the lad. He could see that his pole was still stuck in his hair.

the boy jumped and yelled in supprise" ghaa! what..what do you want with me?" he asked in a scared toen as he was still in shock by the others head appereing out of the water.The boy then sees the hook in the the others hair" d-do you w-want me to get that ,,,,out of yo-you hair?" he asked the other unsure what the other was.
